View Full Version : Help on the Gun Sights on Me-109, Zero, .....

I know this subject is somewhere in here and I have done a search but cannot seem to find it. So my question is:

On the aircraft with off-set reflective gun sights as in the case of the Me-109. How do you center the orange sight? It is always half off the reflective glass toward the center of the aircraft. In some cases, the orange outline is not showing at all.

How do you center it on the reflective window and sight it in with the guns?

By the way, I think the game is fantastic even with all its little bugs and patches.

Just remember:

ctrl-f1 will do the trick, works on all aircraft, and is absolutely necesary in the planes with "sniper scope" in PF.

Be sure.

Shift f1 for gunsight view from cockpit.
Control f1 for no cockpit view.

LEXX is correctomundo! Also I like to map the [delete} and [end] keys to buttons next to the hat switch on the stick so that I can change instantly between the zoom and normal view. You fly with the normal view, but stab the [zoom] button for more precise gunnery when close to the target. The only problem with the zoom is that the target can almost instantly flick one way or the other while at close range... and thus completely out of view(I'm talkin' about REALLY close.) That's when you hit the other key you've mapped to pop back into normal view and follow the enemy AC. All the best, LongHorn

Ah, I map Full Zoom Out, Full Zoom In, and a Medium Zoom to 3 of the Hat Switch positions--I use mouse view with FB Mouse Sensitivity increased to 5.0 to look around smooth with minimum wrist movement. Padlock Enemy is set to my 4th Hat Switch position, but I almost never use Padlock anymore so I can free that for something else.

Yeah, I'm a hatswitch zoomer too.

Whilst on the subject of gunsight keys - what's the key combo to uncap the sight in the Val, and is this in the key bindings? I couldn't see it on a cursory first pass.

Also - does this or any other combo bring the iron sight down from the roof of the A20? (presuming that's what it is).

Japanese Lens Cap is the same key as German gunsight sun shield...Tinted Reticle Dimmer....Forgot the Default, if any.

Default is Ctrl+D

Thanks. Any idea about the A20?

Concerning the ctrl and D button combination to remove the lense cover - I can not get it to work on the SBD3 - neither can I allign the main scope, as shift F1 goes to the bombsight view.

Is their a way to use the MG's via the mains cope other than going to the bombsight view?

02-02-2005, 11:21 AM
Yimmy, as far as I know, SBD-3 (and other versions for that matter) didn't have a second, dedicated bombsight. The scope was used both for gunnery & dive bombing, by pressing Shift F1 You just look through the scope. Period.

ImpStarDeuce - in the A20 if you look up at the roof there's what looks like a rotating bar with an iron gunsight attached. Looks like it can swivel down in front of your view.

Just wondered if it did!

No, it doesn't. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It was modeled by Rafael and me to be moveable, but for some unknown reason it had been remodeled (in a terrible way I must say).
