Evening all, or morning, or afternoon, or midday or midnight wherever you may be.

Im thinking about downloading RuB for 1.4. I did a search and found that there are problems involving multiplayer and RuB. I like playing multiplayer, but also really want to download Real U-Boat, whats the story guys? What can i do?

Okay.....Here's what seems to work the best....For ME, anyway.....
1. Install the game...It will create a folder called "Ubisoft" in your "Program Files" This contains all the game files.
2. Install the 1.4 patch (if you so choose)
3. Create a new folder in your "Program Files" call it......Oh...Whatever you would like...I called mine "UbisoftMP" (for MultiPlayer)
4. Copy all the files from within the folder "Ubisoft" into the new "UbisoftMP" folder.
5. After the copy-transfer has been complete, go into your "UbisoftMP/SilentHunterIII" folder and look for the red sh3 icon. This is your application/executible. Change the name of it to sh3MP.
6. Create a shortcut to it and move it on your desktop. You should now have two icons: "Silent Hunter III" and "Shortcut to sh3MP"
7. Each icon will open up to its related game.
8. You can now load up your original/Single-Player career game (Ubisoft) with mods and leave the UbisoftMP game in it's stock format for MP play.
9. Just click on one or the other game, depending on what mood you are in. You now have the best of both worlds....
Though with MP you will not have all the cool RUB mods, but at least you won't bring yourself and your fellow skippers down in an MP game-crash.

Or you can download everything, update to 1.4. Download RuB1.4 don't install, instead download this nifty Mod Enabler and follow those directions in the Readme, that's only 1 step not 9.

Question: It says it is a 7Z file or whatever it is. Do i just move this file to the mods folder?

Even though you've obviously answered this question for yourself by now, to those not familiar:

"7Z" type files are compressed files, like ZIP, RAR and ACE files. Their advantage is a high compression ratio.

There are a number of archive utilities that can create and read "7Z" type files. I've got a recent version of WinRAR and it handles 7Z files flawlessly and transparently.
