I find this tactic to be maybe the most useful against AI in v2.04.
Situation: I fly in formation, suddenly AI jumped me and gets to my six. I'm still unaware of his presence on my 6. He start to shoots, and tracer miss me slightly -- now I'm aware of him http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif. Then all I do is apply full throttle and full rudder left/right (if I see tracer going by my left wing then I will apply full right rudder and vice versa), and I keep flying straight. Amazingly I see long tracers flying by my wing, and all are missing. They can empty all their guns firing at me and still don't shot me down. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I wonder if this tactic still works in PF v3.0?

Doesn't work for me.
The ace AI in PF are VERY good shots, IMO twice as good as they were in 2.04. Most defensive maneuvers that worked in FB will not fool them now- pretty realistic I would say.

Bottom line is, that is very good news. IMO.

It is really unrealistic to have AI bandit on your tail on 100-200m and because you apply full rudder left/right, he kept missing and missing, when in fact, is harder to miss than score... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm glad that they improved game in that direction. But in the v2.04 this is still great tactic against AI. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

To me it seems the old "continuous shallow turn" manuever still works very well. I think you give the AI too much credit, when it occaisionally does hit you.

In one case I was in a SBD, going round and round as 5 Zeroes exausted all their ammo into an imaginary point a few meters behind me. Ammo spent, their tactic of "flying straight" did not prevent me from shooting them all down. Verily, they were no match for the mad skills of a leet PF haxor.
