The Japanese twins (particularly the Ki-46 III) were THE most beautiful planes of the war. Smooth, elegant and refined in appearance they are at the top of my "most wanted but probably wont get" list.
Bring on a Ki-46 III KAI v B-29 mission though.

As for the Ki-46-III Recco a/c, you can say one the most perfect designs ever.

There could also be a new debate about uber-aircraft if the Mitsubishi Ki83 is included.

I thought for sure the IL2 database showed someone is designing the Ki-45. So I think the only question on that plane is will it be flyable or Ai.

Ki-46-III Recce bird. Thats the one. Beauty is a thing to behold.
The Japanese may have build them fragile but they sure did build them pretty. Look at the streamlining on that thing!! Not a rivet out of place.
Would love this as a AI only plane (read: target) Imagine high alt interception runs against these. 400 mph+ in shallow dive.

The Gekko was mainly used as a night fighter, wasn't it?
And while the Ki-45 Toryu was one of the nicer twin-engined designs, when they went up against the B-29's very late in the war a good number of them used that tried-and-tested method of bringing down aircraft which was pioneered by our friends the Russians...they rammed them. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hear, hear! The inclusion of any -used- Japanese plane would be greatly appreciated.
