Maybe this would have been more appropriate for the general discussions forum, but I wonder what planes the Luftwaffe would have used for carrier ops.

They were planning to use the Me-109T and the Ju-87C on it.

Thanks Berg, the JU-87 looks like it would have functioned well as a carrier based dive bomber that would have caused a great deal of horrible terror. However, I think the Nazi carrier idea never fully took hold in the early 40s because of the U-boats that were doing the job well enough in the North Atlantic at the time. But as far as carrier adapted Luftwaffe planes, which I was most curious about, (the structural capabilities )I havent seen a photo yet of a 109 with a tail hook. I would think the FW190 would make a better carrier plane, but its a long gone idea anyway, thanks for the links.

From what I have seen the 109t only difference externally is a hook and a wide track undercarriage.Performance was on par with the land version. No folding wings were fitted as the same as the Sea Hurricane and early Seafires.

the main difference betwenn a Bf109E and a Bf109T-1 ,beside the carrier equipment, was its larger wingspan !
from 9,90m to 11.08 m.

109T-2 had no carrierequipment.
