Hey guys i just baught this game yesterday and i love it (though i do suck a bit atm). there are a few things that puzzle me though;

1: I cant seem to keep up with my wingmen no matter how full the throttle they seem much faster in the same aircraft. Any advise for me on this?

2: How do u play online? i only have the option for LAN.

Please could you answer these questions for me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

1: It's hard to keep up with the AI planes, if you close the radiator to position 6, the engine won't overheat with 100% throttle on most of the planes. With the radiators open you will lose some top-speed. So close it as much as you can without overheating.
Also you have to trim your plane, nose down / nose up (I think it is CTRL + Arrow UP / CTRL + Arrow Down by default). Increasing the throttle only means your aircraft will climb. You have to trim it down to increase the speed. If you fly with the navigation path visible you should cut corners to catch up. I think in the BF109 you will catch up with your AI planes if you go faster than 410 Km/h. Just as an orientation.

2: To play online you should use the Hyperlobby or the All-Seeing Eye.

Hyperlobby:

(You have to enter a nickname under game setup otherwise you might get kicked from the servers)

1) Your AI wingmen have some serious advantages. Not the least of which are- they know exactly their most advantageous climb speeds, they can make turns that cost them the least amount of energy, and they don't overheat their engines. When you take off behind your flight, they know how to make the aircraft fly the most 'efficient' way. You on the other hand, don't know how yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Even in regular flight, it can be tough for a seasoned player to catch up sometimes; the AI just does things very well, because they use a bunch of code, while you actually have to fly http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif You'll get the hang of it though. A tip for catching up on take-off: see if you can make a very high-speed takeoff roll, by keeping your cowls, canopy and flaps closed. Gain every MPH you can before you lift off. In regular flight, learn to trim your plane well (if the plane can be trimmed), and this will allow you to use more of the plane's potential

2) I don't play online http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Easy: AI in this game CHEATS like a Mississipi boat gambler, that's just one of the aces in their sleeves.

There's nothing you can do to match their hyperdrive zoom, but being AI, so... toggle the autopilot and catch them. Toggle it off when you're in the fray.
