Hi all,
i just installed PF on my vista laptop, i works fine. but i have the classic problem like i do with every game on a 17" laptop. My resolution is slightly stretched to give the planes a kind of bloated fat apperance. is there any setting that would fix this?

Yeah, the settings are the same, and this is the forum. Read this (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/9121094645) guide, it explains a little of the evolution of this game and how pacific fighters fits in, as well as a lot of useful info that applies to all the versions.

kk. i still have my plane streched horizontally though. You can see it clearly when you look at the prop. but when i take a pic of it. it squishes back to the right size.(in the photo)
ill try it again.
idk why its not working

Ah, you're on Vista, vista won't let you write to .ini files in the Program Files folder. Take the whole game folder and move it out of Program Files, I keep mine in C:\Games\. Then you conf.ini setting changes will stay.

KK, so i did that, and it works, well kind of. I get these two black lines on either side of my screen, and the cursor is really glitchy and slow. SO in the settings i changed it from OpenG, to DirectX, which makes it run as perfect as always,BUT IM BACK TO THE STRECHEDNESS.

The game is supposed to run in opengl. Post your conf.ini please. You get the black bars on either side of the menu screen but when set up right it should have full wide screen in the game.

Ahh! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif idk why it started working, but now ive got full performance with two bars on either side. (personallay, i dont rally mind the bars,)
thx for your help. and i suppose IL2 works in exaclty the same way?

Well, in fact PF is IL2.. It's just one of the different versions of it. The most recent is IL2 1946 which also includes all previous versions. If you ever want to play online, IL2 1946 is the version you'll need...

As for the 2 bars, they shouldn't be there... Please post your ini file and your screen resolution http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Saveaspect=0 is what you need to get rid of the bars.
