VAC is much better and easier to use.

At the risk of sounding really ignorant, what is "VAC" and how do I get it ? I have Voice Buddy and Game Commander 2.

Voice Activated Commands (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=369)

It is share ware sort of.... but IMO it is well worth the cost of a donation to it's developer... ($10) It is made by a community member... and it works in any windows application. Cant beat it with a stick.

Competition in the marketplace is good.

Unless Shoot is now in a GUI AFAIC there is no competition..

I use VoiceBuddy with 1946 with no problem. I've been using for over a year now; it automatically finds the IL2fb.exe when the game is started (no magic in getting it to run at all).

Make sure you start VoiceBuddy before you start the game.

I tried VAC. It is very similar, but Voice Buddy has profiles already made (yes, before I get jumped on, I'm aware that there are profiles available for VAC).

The two programs both use the Microsoft Speech SDK so essentially they do the same thing. VoiceBuddy uses a macro language of its own that recognizes most of the IL2/Pacific Fighter commands so, no matter how you map them, VoiceBuddy works without much modification.

However, it costs more than VAC.

It's all about choices....

However, it costs more than VAC.

And shoot is completely free (like a bird!) and also uses the MS underlying structure.

There are some profiles also - but anyone should be able to make one easy enough.

As for the graphical hoopdie-doo - here is a screenshot.

As always the market will decide.

Hmmmm this is an improvement since I used it... either way.... both are good....
