View Full Version : my theory on spiral tracers

raaaid

i dont think the spiral tracers are bullets that expell gases through a hole on a side

i would say they are eccentricc bullets banned by geneva

if this bullets are shot in vacuum theyll go straight but as the density of the fluid in which the bullet travels increases it makes a spiral of bigger radius

on this way when the density is maximum, when it hits the plane, it travels on a spiral of very big radius, imagine the damage

im even suspicious that the lack of info on this bullets is due to supressed science

I think the bullet does more damage if it hits the structure in a straight line.

To make something move in a spiral there needs to be a force pushing it towards the centre of the spiral - because the bullet is spinning because of rifling it could be aerodynamic but that would just make the round tumble, not spiral.

aight line.

The combustable material in a tracer doesn't burn evenly. So if the projectile spins- and all bullets do- you're bound to see a spiral pattern under the right conditions.

I just ate a Double Mushroom Swiss Burger and fries from Checkers. Damn good burger. The fries, for once, were straight from the deep fryer and excellent. The Sprite, however, had a bit too much ice for my taste. Overall, a solid 9.0.

on this way when the density is maximum, when it hits the plane, it travels on a spiral of very big radius, imagine the damage

...and imagine the gunsight you'd need to target these eccentrically-spiralling rounds - unless you're trying to tell us that they are spiralling parallel to the trajectory (line) that the gunsight predicts? That would hardly be eccentric, would it?

And so, also, where do the non-tracer rounds go in this scenario? The point is, tracer is designed to be part of the aiming process. It's a visual aid to acquiring the target designed to show the accuracy of your bullet-stream and allow you to adjust that stream so that it intersects with your target, so there's not much point in having your tracer spiralling off eccentrically is there?

Tracer ammo is totally explained here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracer_ammunition)

No mention of Ming the Merciless homing in on Planet Earth yet - but who knows what next weeks episode will bring?

she smile to me as she intended to harm me

the same here, people intend to harm me but as i cant see your phony face i realize right the way of your intentions

well according the internet eccentric bullets dont exist

according to me i know of this bullets because i shot them, yes thats my conclusion from my dreams, i was there and im here now though many people would prefer i was not

Using teh 109 in PTO is just wrong.

You don't have enough fuel to reach the next island and so on...... heck even a take off and on spin around the island is doubtful.

Eccentric bullets aren't very good as they're less accurate and they use up a lot of energy going in spirals, thus have shorter range. And as planes aren't solid their effect might not be as dramatic as they would be in a human body for instance.

That's a screenshot from Il-2, not real tracer-smoke...

Saying "I'm not racist, even with Saxons" is inherently racist though, like saying "I'm not sexist, not even against women".

I know about those. If you see a bullet stop for tea on its way to a target you've got eccentric bullets.

You should blame ignorance, not suppression...

There is a LOT of material on the subject in general and even specific.

You could start for free by visiting and perhaps even contacting Anthony Williams, author, historian and specialist on WW2 (aviation) machine guns and cannons.

http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk/

His books Rapid Fire and Flying Guns World War II are very accessible.

There are also a number of other dedicated publications which cover Luftwaffe aerial guns and cannons.

And to boot, to those who have time, money and patience there are thousands of microfilm files and paper files that can be accessed at various archives.

Raaaid, you can lay this one to rest, there is no suppression...really there isn't http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

When you enter a room do you ever worry about all the oxygen molecules congregating in one corner. You know, away from you - leaving you breathing nitrogen and carbon dioxide. And being worried about this happening, you would probably not notice when did happen. So there you are on the floor gasping while all the oxygen laughs from the far corner - hahahahahahahahaha. The last sound you'll ever hear; derision from an inorganic compound.

Oxygen is an element, but the stuff we breathe is two little atoms of oxygen happily floating together - a molecule. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Eccentric bullets....stopping for tea....that's rich Baldie!

Golly, and all this time I thought I was looking at the effect of rifling/friction/phosphorous and the limitations of the graphics engine.

Thank god for a good education system eh?

You see that kind of spiral smoke trail from cannon shell on several gun-cam films. I should think that it's the air around the shell that's spiralling (due to the shells spin) rather than the shell itself inscribing sauch a wide arc.

Indeed. The Red Wings didn't win the Stanley Cup this year and I'm short some money. God fixes a lot of sports.
