Am I missing something or has anyone else noticed that Ezio's ring finger has grown back???
We see all the recruits sworn in in a ceremony where they become Master Assassins and they all get their ring finger removed... I thought Ezio did too? And the point of it all was that the hidden blade can be exposed even when he makes a fist.
Just wondering how such an important 'minor' detail could be overlooked... I have the Brotherhood wallpaper and his finger is clearly back, as it is in pretty much any image I see of him now.

Their fingers don't get removed, they get branded with a hot iron as a mark of their status. Pay more attention.

Ezio never had his finger removed at all...you haven't been paying attention to the story...in that ceremony they don't remove the finger but mark it with the assassin symbol, they burn it onto his finger, they do not remove it.

Thanks, I thought this was all a bit odd. I would think the cheap shot sarcasm is uncalled for though since I made it pretty clear that I thought I was missing something. Thanks for making a newby feel comfortable & welcome.
I guess it was only Altair that had his finger removed then and Leonardo just joked with Ezio about removing it.

As Mario said luckily we are no longer as primative as their ancestors in the sense that they do not have to remove the ring fingure anymore. Plus Leonardo did say he had abriviated the design of the hidden blade to allow the wielder not to have to sacrifice the ring fingure anymore. One of the more comical parts to AC2 was this scene to think someone missed it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif.

Wasn't it Altair who originally said in the Codex that he was working on a way to redesign the blade so the wearer didn't have to loose a finger?

Yes, it was Altair.

As pointed out, Altair redesigned the blade in the Codex so people didn't have to sacrifice their fingers. But Altair lost his finger, as he designed it late in life.
