Mission 4 Today would be my first guess to find missions, but your game is such an old version I'm not sure you'll have any luck.

I believe they have an archive.

PS. Welcome to the forum.

Yes, Mission4Today is your bet bet, but unless you are utterly broke, I'd try and get the latest version of IL-2 - That's 'IL-2 Sturmovik 1946'. you will find it a real improvement on what you have now, and you won't need to pay more than about $10 in the US, or perhaps a little more elsewhere. If possible, getting it on DVD seems to cause less hassle than a download, though that works too for lots of people.

Well I just got IL-2 Gold Pack not long ago, and I'm quite happy with it. I've been playing the original IL-2 Sturmovik since it came out, and never got bored of it. The extra addition of planes, vehicals, ships and buildings, is really nice!, I'm content now. I'll buy 1946 later down the road. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

By the way, I'm F4U Corsair, over at the 1C Company forums.

M4T and also Flying Legends has "older" missions and campaigns for you to download. All the older missions should be found on the older pages, newer ones on the more recent pages. Links to both sites are in my signature below...

46 is worth it for the content available alone

Yeah man just get 1946. More maps, more planes, and better AI [at least compared with the FB/AEP/PF version I had before '46].

That's cool. I have FB on my hard drive and I still like to fly it and the original IL2 now and then for kicks. I still go to the original IL2 Sturmovik room on Hyperlobby now and then to see if anyone is flying.

Anyway, here is a link to download the "Emil Campaign" that the "Ian Boys" put out for us in November 2002, it should work for your installation:

For some reason my FB install is only patched up to 1.21. I guess I will have to dig and see if I have the 1.22 patch in my archives.

If you ever want to try to fly online let me know, I will give it a go. We will just have to get my install to the same version as yours.

On my YouTube page, I have three videos made from Forgotten Battles tracks from 2003 that I saved here:

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Jumoschwanz#g/u

One is from the old BM357 server and two are from CrazyIvan's old dogfight server he used to regularly host.

Anyone remember "UncleIvan"? Who used to host a server for the original IL2? He always used a winter map, and always flew a Yak...

Lastly it is nice to meet someone who is not so needy for new toys and entertainment. IL2 has so much to offer in any of it's versions, it does take years to try everything it has in it.

S!

Thanks guys, I check out the links. I appreciate the offer to play online Jumoschwanz, but I only play offline against the A.I. I'll try out that Emil campaign. If you need version 1.22, you can get it here... http://www.ubi.com/us/games/info.aspx?pid=128

I like your tracks on YouTube, what do you fly with Jumo?. I've got a Logitech Freedom 2.4GHz, Cordless Joystick.

I fly with the best stick ever! The Microsoft Precision2. Been using them since 2001. I pick them up on ebay auctions cheap.

I set the hat switch so when I push it forward it activates "look forward", or in other words, nothing happens. Then I set one base button to "look up", and with a combination of that and the hat I can get any angle of pan I need.

I use a 20.1 inch, 4:3 Dell flat screen at 1200x1600 resolution.

Yeah, I just read your YouTube profile, and it goes into detail, I didn't realise.

Thanks for not adding music to the tracks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey Jumo, you think can you add some Ju-87 dive bombing runs?. I'd love to see them. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I guess I could work on that. Dive bombing is about the same in all aircraft for me though, unless they have the dive-bombing specific sight as in the Stuka D-5 or the Ju-88.

If you don't have the special sight, then you are best off diving in as steep an angle as possible, and at as high a speed as possible to offset error. You can get good at shallow angle bombing with practice though, using the regular graduations on the sight glass.

It is just that any change in speed or angle changes the bombs trajectory, so you have to have practiced enough to be able to consistently control those variables.
