Wow, that was crazy. It felt like a depth charging, I opened my bedroom door to stand in the doorway, and I could see the apartment rock back & forth like a ship at sea.

So far, no damage reported, cell phone service is out.

Good move Tuddley! They say that's the thing to do. Glad you are OK. Any aftershocks?

So far, only three 3.8's. I only felt one of them. There will be many more to come in the next few days. It's possible to have one close to a magnitude 5.

Tuddley;

OK, ...it's true that here in the Midwest we have nasty winters, problems with flooding, and Tornadoes: .......But at least the ground tends to stay where it belongs!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

True, true http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I'm still waiting for the Big One, when California finally breaks away from the mainland and we become an island. Then you'll be able to buy ocean front property in Arizona and Nevada. Like George Strait says, "If you buy that, I'll throw the Golden Gate in free".

The wife and I had just put our, then 6 month, baby to sleep (he's 16yrs now), and I immediately jumped onto my PC for a fix of Dynamix's Pacific fighters... got behind this one zero and let rip with all my 0.5's... ratattatat.. and he blew up so close that I felt the shock wave and my whole seat and table shuddered... I jumped for joy !!!

Then it dawned on me that this sort of thing does not happen... I jumped out of my seat and ran around the house in a daze...Wot happening.. Wot's happening... Then I found the cause of my earthquake.. A car had driven through my front wall, which came down in a perfect flat orientation, shaking up my world.

I looked into the car and there was no driver... OK this is getting good. Out of the darkness arrived a person so drunk, he could hardly stand... and he told me, pointing to a polystyrene cup lying in the road, that it had jumped out into the road and he had to avoid it. I nearly ROFL'd but thought it better not to. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

It's the best story I'd ever heard...
