Nice movie, also an interstesting read- but in german, the Pilot who fly the 109E is Walter Eichhorn who fly also the airworth G6,

Interessting what he tells, overall behavior is similar even with the weaker engine, cause the plane is not as heavy as a Gustav, surprisingly the Emil is more harsh in stallbehavior.

He also had the opportunity to fly a SpitIX while his mechanics worked at the Emil.
He described the flight characteristic as very pleasant, but ailereon forces in rolls are higher as in the 109.

Enjoy the movie!

Planning to see that fly the first week of June. Amazing! I didn't know there were any flying 109s but now there are at least two that I know of.

Didn´t know that this Emil is airworthy, so with this one, I think there are three 109 still airworthy.
This Emil, a G6 and a "new" G2 (spanisch HA, but rebuild with DB engine) with some luck I will see it fly next week!

The G10 some of us know from Photos are not airworthy anymore, it had a gearfailure- one gear broke and the firecar drove over one wing... at least it was something typicle for 109´s

If you want to see the 109 fly you can attend an airshow hosted by it's owner, Ed Russell. June 3-5th in Niagara Falls at Russell's airport. Very easy to get to... QEW to Niagara Falls, exit at Sodom Road and you can see the airport from the highway.

The only original flying 109E in the world... I won't be missing this display.

Here's a link with some more info.
