The 353rd FG will be hosting a private memorial flight for Monroe on Thursday night in HL for 353rd members and friends.

We are inviting friends and squads to join and celebrate the life of Monroe Q .

The 353rdFG will be paying it's respects to Monroe with a squadron flyover and missing man formation. We invite those who want to represent thier squad in a parade of squadrons to end the flight.

We will be recording tracks in order to produce a nice video to send to Monroe's family so we want to make sure this is professional and done with the utmost respect.

Monroe was a big part of our virtual lives and this squad meant a lot to him.

If interested please contact me through IM or you can visit out forums at http://www.353rdfightergroup.com/StumbleInn/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1243 for further details.

Unfortunantly due to space we will only have 40 pilot slots available so if you are interested in attending let us know.

Sounds pretty cool, I would love to represent my squad in the parade at the end but I am unsure if I will be available on that date, hence I do not want to clog up a pilot slot. Would it be possible, if I see you guys in HL, to take it from there?

Thanks to those that have sent condolences and showed interest in this.

It looks like we may have to plan this for the weekend in order to work around schedules.

I would ask that those who are interested please respond with an email address in our forums and our Command Staff will get in touch with you for the details.

Thanks again.

That is nice that you guys are doing that for the late Lt. Colonel Monroe Q Williams and his family, but when did he pass away? Was it during the war or something else?

Lt. Col. Williams aka MONROEQ passed away last sunday. He was the only known WWII combat flyer veteran that flew the game.

He is being honored for his sacrifice and service to the country as well as for his love of flying and the game as well as for his advice and friendship and comraderie in the virtual skies through his squad =353=.

Yeah it was too bad I was unable to join you guys. I cannot fly at the moment because I am tending care to my Dad (had emergency medical situation while we were out of town) and came back with a dead computer. Just building a new one right now and without a video card just yet (using the southbridge integrated video).

It would be nice to see an ntrk or video sometime. An ntrk would be better for me though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Godspeed to monroeq http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wow, that is amazing. He actually played the game on a regular basis(and of course fought in WWII in real life)? Thank God for true heroes like him. It is a real shame that the world lost another great WWII vet(obviously, not all WWII vets were good people e.g. like the Waffen SS). Hopefully I can play with the 353 squad sometime just contact me.

It's nice of you guys to remember Monroe Q this way. I enjoyed seeing him at HL. I don't remember ever flying with him, but I remember seeing him chat with his squad mates frequently. Really nice guy.

He will be missed. My condolences to his family.
