The reason i took this position is rather simple. I would like to continue a truly unique relationship between this community and the developer of this fine sim.

I will not allow to turn this forum into the zoo, you better believe it. I think everyone here understands purpose of this room...and if not, let me remind you: Olegs Ready Room is designed for those who has direct or not really direct questions to the developer. Needless to say that those questions and comments should be expressed in respectful manner, otherwise in the best case they will be edited...in the worth case - deleted or even banned.

Lets all behave like an adults, it`s not that hard.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Hi CrazyIvan.

I agree 100%. At least in this flight sim, people have the chance to put questions directly to the developer. How many games do that.

I dont post here often, but I do follow the forums closely.

Ivan is right, if you want to post, post with some respect.

If you dont show any respect - then you wont get any back. Simple, really isnt it.

Way to go Mister Ivan sir. BBs is not a democracy. I like the facts and solid reasoning that we sometimes see on here - but the emotional stuff is chaff, and bleeds off alot of the fun. Not to mention what it must read like to Oleg - I mean if it were me if somebody was right, but rude, I'd have a much harder time fixing the problem.

I don't mind an edit instead of delete, as long as it's clearly marked as "edited by forum moderator." I like what your doing so far Ivan, keep up the good work.

Hopefully after a bit people will get the point and you'll be able to relax a bit. (or am I being too optimistic here http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif )

Hi Ivan,

to be honest, I'd like to see the Moderators to be more strict. Very often, people start valid threads and raise questions and are beaten to death by childs which turn valid points into "why do you complain, I can beat you anyway"-Crap-trheads and this results into banned topics like the "unnameable"-FW19.... problems.

I am especially fed up of these "Please read"-threads which are SPAM in 90% of the cases.

If you could take care of this a bit I'd be happy. I must say that often I find this forum to be informative but I am fed up of threads which are filled with immature crap and end in useless flamewars.

Thanks for the tracks btw...

See ya

There is no good reason not to edit posts if it is done in the proper way. Ivan pointed this out. If someone makes a post with a valid point, but other parts of that post are very emotional, rude and/or insulting, then editing the post consists of removing the bad (emotional, rude, insulting) part and leaving the good (valid point). As long as the point being made is not distorted, I cannot understand why the bad should not be removed and the good left.

These forums are not ours, we are guests here.

Crazyivan, I hope you will be effectual in sorting out the ORR. I imagine that strict moderation to keep the forum on the track of its intended purpose can save a lot of work for the 1C:Maddox team and keep a lot of valid discussions from being obscured or blown out of proportion.

I only know you from what I read here in these forums.
I agree with you - some people have a valid point but step on themselves trying to make it.

If you can decipher the point from someones angry or ugly post - and are willing to take the time - I trust you. And I dont want Oleg to be put off from a needed fix by a crappy poster.

You don't edit a book because you don't like it. You read it and accept it, if not you disregard it. If mr. "username" wrote someting in an appropriate way it is probably because he wanted to do so. Most of us have graduated from highschool. Its like putting words into someones mouth. Some of the mods on SimHQ edit posts, always that I've seen to remove an entire post, but leave the shell so that the followon posts make "sense". I've seen, not sure where, a purportedly offensive paragraph paragraph was removed from an otherwise reasonable post.

OMG... LOL

I'm just speaking on my own behalf, I don't represent Ubi.com or 1C Maddox or anything like that but....

Crazy, this has actually turned into a 1st Ammendment issue.. congradulations http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

However, as this is a PRIVATELY owned forum, everyone complaining about the edits I think is just going to have to get over it, since you agreed to the terms and conditions of applying to be able to post here.

If someone is totally out of hand with language and is being rude, but has a good point, than the post should be edited, and more importantly CAN be edited by CrazyIvan as per his allowaces as Forum Moderator...

Sorry Crazy, I probably should leave this part to you, but I just love watching people complain that they should be able to be as rude and immature as they want since they have.. rights and stuff http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And Yay1, if you were a published author, you're right, but since you're not... too bad. And even published authors have editers to make sure that you're not acting like a complete doofus.

I have observed and read this form for the past year or so with interest and wondering how a Team of People could developed a wonderful flight sim like IL2 and FB. All of us who play the game in varing degrees ought to be a little more understand of what it takes to product a flight sim. I guess I look at it a little more deeper than most in that I marvel at the physics, what it takes to model in 3D (I so it as part of my job as a engineer) and to make it all come together into a game. Yes, we all of us ought tot be a little more throughtful to all of those who send and read messages in this form. As for me I truly appreciate the Entire Team and Thank All of You who labored on this project.

I agree 100%, Respectfull post ie(cussing, racial, disrespectful and bad taste should be edited and or ban) but Ivan remember freedom of speech allways some one gonna have an opinion liked or unliked, some things are just meant to be taking with a grain of salt...

I'm definatly with you bro...

I wish more people would just grow up and just fly to have fun

yes I have my complaints about modeling and plane performaces whats uber and whats not

I sometimes ponder into wishing I could be like the Quantum leap guy ,and warp into a FW190 or a Spit and fly it so i may record flight data and send it to oleg. Cause face it I doubt many of us are WW2 aces let alone WW2 pilots and even then would not of Flown both sides of the WAR...

Yes, there is the problem...

Kids with a little power going to their heads, like kids making prank phone calls, their perceived empowerment (by virtue of being anonymous) is the same unchecked force that litters forum boards. That is the problem.

Ivan is just letting everybody know the rules. I do not think he really relishes editing your precious prose. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

For my tastes, this forum has improved a lot.

I have seen a ton of garbage on forum boards. It is posted relentlessly. On the other hand, I have never seen a moderator around here as much as make an honest mistake.

Well.....back on the subject at hand. This is a question and a request for Mr. Maddox. In another thread he stated that he would have to change the game dynamics to appease a few of the squeeky wheels that post here ad nausium about how this plane shoud fly, or the balistics of that plane are wrong, etc....etc....etc.....

I would ask him to please keep the game as true to real World War II combat flying as his very well informed staff can. Please do not knuckle under to just a few in here who would like to see his product turn into an arcade game.

If this is not the correct forum for this post , please forgive me.
