If they could create a tool to extrapolate all the data for all current il2 objects and port them to the new engine. OMG

OR

Allow modders to add the aircraft...even if its only selected ones that get the editor

I don't think I can wait another 5 years for Olegs BOB it to get to the excellent stage il2sturmovik engine is at now.

As coool as it would be, which it would...
I'd be surprised it it were possible, in terms of the programming code.

But as long as the mere possibility hasn't been ruled out yet, why not dream of it? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There are no plans to do this, according to Oleg. He's stressed over and over that the two sims will not be compatible

Even if it were somehow possible, why would you want the IL-2 stuff in the game, when it would just lessen the quality?

It'd be like LOMAC, with those horrible things ported from Flanker, sitting right next to brand new, beautiful planes and weapons.

I am talking about a porting utility so intelligence and smart that it knows how to "extrapolate" the graphics and data, essentially upgrading and filling in the blanks for the new BOB engine

The problem is BOB will use far more data at FM (oleg stated that once). So it doesn´t help to have all current data for all planes in BOB if the new parameters are not available for all planes.

Well, right http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif that's what I mean by the Holy Grail- keeping the fidelity of the new system as it interacts with the old system would sorta mean making the old system the same as the new one, by virtue of porting software, to my mind

Don´t beleive that is remotely possible without damaging new FM (changing it).
