View Full Version : Revi in IL2 vs Revi in the gunsight manual

The sighting image on the gunsight of German fighters in IL2 looks somewhat different from that printed in Luftwaffe's Revi 16B gunsight manual. Please pay attention to the little marks on the horizontal and vertical lines of the cross.

In IL2, there are 4 marks falling exactly on the circle, each of them being the third from the centre:

whereas in the Revi 16B's manual, these marks fall outside the circle:

Which, then, is what the Lutfwaffe pilots saw in their fighters? Or is Oleg's Revi gunsight correct?

There is a Revi C/12U here in the collection at Castle Jungmann. The sight image in the manual illustration is correct. The Oleg sight is simplified.
