this would help avoid the shoot killers

ive also noticed that now you can close your radiator even with engine failure off, i would have made a post about this and seems that somebody listened, the maddox team is great and i wish them all the best for this great feed back

??????????????I think you mean "chute" as in parachute and not shoot????????????? And with that last comment, are you sarcastically implying Maddox does not give good feedback?? That's that way I take it. He may not always have time to give
every person feedback.

You could give a pretense of trying to figure it out before declaring the thread worthless. It's not a Sherlock Holmes-like triumph to figure out that phonetically, chute sounds like shoot. Make an effort http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Crikeys, you are sure in a fighting mood today chuck.

Ohh and by the way. Being Australian, i do realise that our concept of english may differ from that of crazy yanks and tea drinking poms.

But i did realise he was talking about a manualy operating parachute.

My comment was what it was because of the apparent will of Raaid to provide topics for discussion for the sake of posting.

Back this up with the concept that this is a combat simulator primarily about flying aircraft, and not free from skydiving... well my conclusion came as it did.

Anyhow, Raaid should surely know that if he is *THAT* bothered about being shot whilst in his parachute.... He can, if he so chooses, click the refly button at any time to take that opportunity away from the attacker.

Anyhow, lets forget about that and reflect on the items about aircraft performance or other things we would like his holiness Oleg to perform for us ever so kindly, instead of wastin his time turning FB into a skydiving contest.

Chill pills are Free...... But i will fight you for it. ;-)

(Maybe you should take your advice and try to understand my post before you blurt off at the mouth at the expense of making yourself look silly)

whats so hard about asuming that shoot = chute ie parachute? its pretty obvious, especially in the context that he used it, i hate people that do that, just pick for the sake of it

but then again, raid is making a very disrespectful point, that or i am misunderstanding /misinterreting his post

I reckon he was trying to say that he would have made a post on this forum, but that somewhere along the way somebody else (the Maddox team) "listened" (i.e. he posted to them and got a reply). Hence the thanks for their feedback.

Actually, having thought about it, his idea of having another step involved that actually opens the parachute up is not such a bad idea. A bit too deep in the source code to expect Oleg to implement it though.

That was my first post of the day. I don't know what you're banging on about, but it sure is apparent you have some other dashing, good looking and fortunate man confused with me. Good for him.

That said, I understand your post implicitly. You're not the enigma you fancy yourself. Your post isn't a comment about the subject of the thread, it's a comment on raaaid

You're doing exactly what you tell me he's doing- posting for no other reason than to post. Your reply has no content and is strictly meant to put raaaid down. And being that he's talking about players who have bailed out being targetted while in their parachutes...your argument about his post is 100% hollow. I'm not certain I want to call your attitude hypocritical (I will call it a bad attitude), but you might want to think about how folks see it when you do the same things that you tell others not to do.

This might be hard for you to grasp, but if raaaid posted your response to YOU, I'd post the same thing to HIM that I have posted to you. I don't care one little rat @ss what you think of me, but I hate bullies, and just because raaaid posted something, that doesn't give anyone the right to make fun of him or put him down. I like raaaid. He's got the most testicular fortitude of anyone on this forum, and he doesn't whine about the BS responses he ALWAYS gets. That counts for something in my book.

You keep right on posting, raaaid http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Sorry pal, I may be new on this forum (actually even newer than you are) but I just can't pass over what you just said.
Seems to me raaaid is a very respectable person. For all I've guessed so far (please allow me to do so from personal experience; sometimes it doesn't take long before you grasp the essence of something, just open your mind), he may even be one of the most creative and inspirational members here, despite whatever contempt you may want to spit to his face.

What's more:

1) even if the last part of his comment was somehow confusing, the first does make sense and does carry some interesting stuff.
You don't like it or can't grasp it - your problem.

2) Unless officially decreed, it's for the mods to call anyone to order, not you.

3) Since you love Cthulhu so much, at least learn to spell its name correctly.

Translation....

What raaid is probably asking for is your parachute or "chute" (not shoot) to be controllable for when it opens. Therefore avoiding the "chute shooting" (shoot shooting if you will http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) by making it more difficult for the bad guys to shoot you just after bailout.

Hi Freelancer,

Cthulhu is a mythical cult that appears throughout H.P.Lovecraft's short novels. More precisely, Cthulhu would be a 'primordial god' in that (fictional) mythology. Nothing futuristic, quite the contrary.

Apologies for not being constructive.

Back on topic

About manual opening parachutes, Yes i suppose. That would be nice.

Perhaps we could also talk about the physics of the pilot who has bailed from the aircraft before deployment of the chute and why he is always in a stable "free-fall" position upon ejecting out of the plane. The wind shear of enclosed canopy to that outside of the plane, and incorporating the wash from propellors and any rotational or centrifugal forces the pilot and plane may be suffereing should surely result in a pilot that will not always consistantly fall in the same position. How would we then model the physics behind the pilot spinning out of control and possibly wrap himself up in his own chute (shoot)

If a manual parachute idea is developed we could also include a flight model for free fall based on all the qoutable physics formulas so easily copied from text books. This would be advantageous to the pilot in the essence that he may be able to control direction of "freefall" towards friendly territory.

Once the pilot has made friendly territory, he can then continue his many discussions with fellow pilots about eccentric bullets, a multitude of perpetual energy device ideas, and other non PF related topics.

Easy enough in a D/F server.

In many coops and online wars, however, this is not an option. You are stuck until you hit the ground. Else you get a disco.

Bailing from bomber height as it is now, you can go and make a pot of coffee and a snack before you hit the ground. I would love to have the option to cut that time by 90% so I could be doing something productive while waiting for the next mission to start.

cheers,

I suppose it would be good to open the chute manually and i`d like a first person view too (as with EAW). LOL, when I tried BF2 online briefly, I saw a guy jump from a stricken Blackhawk and expected to see his chute open, instead he fell all the way to the ground- SPLAT! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif He had a good way to fall too!

I wonder how many would meet their doom in a similar way in FB if chute opening was manual? Perhaps we should ask oleg for this, it can`t be hard to do?

This is one of the wierdest threads I've seen in a while. Spanning from one end of subjects to another.

I don't think I've ever seen such a wide variety of responses generated from something as simple as a misspelled word, or a dumb question. Damn raaaid http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif,

Some people would pay money to get the kind of attention you get from saying something as simple as,"Maybe we should be able to open our chutes with a rip-cord when we bail out".

On to the heavy-metal aspect of this thread.
If you would like to listen to music written on Ktulu, or Shub-Niggurath(the goat with 1000 young). Check out Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" or Morbid Angel's album "Covenant". That's the album after "Blessed are the Sick" and before "Domination".

Diverse crowd we have in these forums.

what i meant with my second paragraph was to thank the maddox team for their listening because i had made a post pointing that you couldnt close the radiator when engine failure was off and now they solved it with their last patch

this encourages me to post my ideas about the game here and my ideas on other subject in other forums because theres always somebody listening though is a shame i dont find an adequate forum for example in the physicsforums.com ive been banned like 7 times just because of having ideas opposite to mainstream and in similar forums was just the same
