View Full Version : Type XXI Question

I'm currently in commanding a Type IXc out of Lorient in about February, 1944. I've been doing alittle boning up on the history of the German XXI submarine, as my personel knowledge was sorely lacking. I see that they were not ready for use till almost the end of WW II. As a matter of fact only two ever made it out on patrol. Now my question is when do the Type XXI's become available in SHIII? Will I get a chance to command one before the war ends?

30 000 renown.

It comes out at the end of 44 some time.

I don't know what flotilla you have to be in. When I saw it I was in the 7th, but that is a VIIC flotilla.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Sounds a bit odd to me.
First thing to try is a re install i suppose, see what happens then.
Other than that i don't know, not heard of that one before.

I don't know what mod your were installing, but here's a suggestion for you:

1. Put your CD in the drive.
2. When the Autorun for SH3 pops up, click "Exit"
3. Click on the "Start" button on your Windows Desktop
4. Click on "Run"
5. Click "Browse"
6. Click on the drive that contains your SH3 CD
7. Click on "Setup.exe"
8. Click "Ok"
9. Click "Run"
10. A prompt will come up asking you if you want to Remove, Modify or Repair. Click on "Repair"

If this doesn't solve your problem, then you need a fresh install of the game.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

i did both, didint work.. i found out why it says that, <b style="color:black;background-color:#a0ffff">UBI[/b] needs to patch this game so it can run 64x bit drivers, cuase i looked it up and starforce protection system is the problem.. and the only way it can be fixed is if <b style="color:black;background-color:#a0ffff">UBI[/b] patchs both SH3 and SC:CT with 64x bit drivers from what i read, or we CANT PLAY IT!!! THX <b style="color:black;background-color:#a0ffff">UBI[/b]!!!!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My wife's Uncle is a beta-tester and has a copy of Vista. He has told me that Microsoft will release Vista with the capability of operating on either 64 or 32-bit operations BEFORE the commercial release date, and that all current 32-bit software will run on Vista. Right now, the beta is set to 64-bit only.

I rely on his wisdom because of his credentials as a MS certified computer tech.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

All right, let's slow down a bit. We really don't have much information to really assess what's going on with your system. First off, what are you're computer specs? Are you running a 64-bit chipset? Also, what mod(s) are you trying to install?

Your OS isn't the problem, and I doubt that Starforce is to blame wither. You have to spoon-feed us some info here so we can meld our collective minds and solve your problem together. Otherwise we have no real clue what to do.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Request a transfer to the 11th Flotilla (Bergen, Norway). It's available around June of 1944 and costs 30,000 renown without the optional technology.

Personally, the added underwater speed is nice on the XXI, but I missed the aft torpedo tubes too much. So I still stick with the IXC/40 after trying the XXI.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I kinda agree with the poster above. However, the ultra-quiet boat, insane(by WW2 standards) underwater speed, very good underwater range and torpedo reloading time of just over 1 minute allow me to hunt any kind of convoy, then follow the ships in their wake while torpedoes reload, rinse/repeat. I'm back, by the way. Haven't posted here in a while http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
