yeah - some people must thrive on scorn...

They must eat scorn flakes for breakfast every morning...we must eschew them thoroughly.

the Mods have done well so far.

How anyone can make fun of such a thing is beyond reason. If one feels it is only a ruse to delay the friggin' patch - then one is fully deluded as to what is really important in life.

Oleg has a family and it isn't us. I for one am hopeful that he and his wife and child will have to endure no lasting effects at all from this horrendous accident (some people were hurt very seriously apparently)...including any of the foolish things said in these forums about it by a few thoughtless individuals.

Rushing at one isn't better either, heywooood.

madsarmy asked for any news on Oleg, not about the patch and BuzzU surely knows.

So what's wrong in asking if there is any news on Olegs health, as we know he was slightly injured!? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I don't think that was heywoods intent. But, only to point out that on other threads there have been a few miscreants making light of Olegs accident.
Sim HQ removed a WHOLE thread relating to the accident because of a few vile posters.
Those are the folks who thrive on scorn heywood was refering to.

I didn't know people had started making fun of this but I don't follow the SimHQ forums. This is of course IMO tasteless & reveals a complete lack of empathy - well what did we expect? After all this is the internet...

From what I know Oleg got himself a whiplash from being slammed from behind - this should teach people to keep their distance at the freeways! It wasn't his fault - he didn't hit those in front of him.

This was just posted by SaQSoN, as he said its taken of the Sukhoi.ru forums and was posted by an employee of 1C;

quote:
More news about the crash, as posted by Oleg's employee at the Sukhoi.ru.

Oleg actually got in two (!) crashes in the course of 2 days (in a row).
First, at Friday evening he got into large crash with several cars involed. He was riding in Skoda Superb then and was hit from behind. The seat back broke, but softened the strike.
The car was totaled.
Next day morning at Saturday, he was driving Skoda Oktavia and was hit by a garbage collector truck which was doing 90km/h, agian from behind. Oleg's car was standing at the traffic light, and the truck driver felt asleep after the night shift.
Oleg got neck injury (frotunately, the bones are ok) and now recovering at home.
Both cars are totaled.

Wish him again the best and speedy recovery.

Best regards,

SaQSoN (Vladimir Kochmarsky)

I think Oleg should stay away from cars for awhile, at least untill all the drivers in Russia stop trying to kill him. Talk about bad luck http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Thanks for the additional news Duece.

heywood
I read the posts at SimHq & was Disgusted by some of the comments there. Has to be one of the most shameful threads I have had the misfortune to come across.

My only concern was about Oleg's health, as the severity of back & neck injuries can surface a day or two after the original incident.

Yes - it can be very bad - some people suffer from pains for the rest of their lifes after this sort of injury. Let's hope for the best http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

madsarmy is asking for an update on how oleg is doing. The forums suppost to go under mantiance today also.

It would be good to hear from oleg on how hes doing and luthier just being a member of the community again chatting with us, he dont even have to answer a single complaint thread it would just be nice to see him posting again as a member of the community.

I hope they managed to patch Oleg up as well as they could that man has to carry the weight of the sim-world on those shoulders. Two puns in one sentence, I still got it!

hey guys - my fist chance to see that my initial post in this thread was incorrectly taken as being directed at madsarmy - sorry dude...I was in fact referring to the post directly above mine on page (1) of this thread (as well as some of the other unfortunate trash that was thrown into some other ones.)
I should have made that clear.

I hope any further news about Oleg will be posted soon now that the forum is up again.

Obviously some of us are genuinely concerned about the well being of someone that has come along and created something so close to our collective interests and who we have corresponded with at times on these boards.

Get Well Oleg...for your family and your extended family too.
