It tasted fishy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif.....no, I weighed it and released it. Its the fight that I enjoy, altough she showed very little surface move's, it was still fun

I've been fishing there over 20 years, and only managed to pull out 6 1/2 pounders.

Dynamite FTW.

Apart from being rather more effective than ancient rod & line technology it's probably somewhat more humane...

I thought this thread was going to be about Starosta's antics. Oh well...

Nice fish Toad! When did they stop making Power Worms, WTH??????

T_O_A_D
06-29-2007, 10:01 AM
They still make them, just not in 12 inch long ones anymore.

I've always bought them in bulk, and just break them off as they wear out.

I only really use them at night, and most guys throw the 10 inch version, But if a Bass will hit a 10 " he will hit a 12" but I've seen nights the 12" out catches the 10" or smaller.

Usually dark moon nights the 12" pays off over the 10"

Oh and yes bassdozer is a very good resource and one of my haunts.

If you are around any of ya and I can get away from work I'm more than happy to go fishing. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Oh, OK. The 12" is very popular out here on the Delta. Guys take steel wool and rough the worm up and then dip the thing in scent paste.

Rough them up eh, I'm guilty of soaking them but never roughed them up. I'll give it a try, I have injected them though. I've also, put *********** on them to hold the sent on , but I'll post that privatly. Can't give out too many secrets.

Slipball's opening post describes the ultimate way to angle... fly fishing! Pretty near anything that swims can be caught on the fly. A list of the species I've hooked:

Rainbow/Brown/Brook/Lake Trout
Arctic Char
Arctic Grayling
Smallmouth/Largemouth/Rock Bass
Crappie
Sunfish
Pike
Chub
Cod (Atlantic)
Atlantic Mackerel (latin name: Scomber Scombrus)
Catfish (yes!)
And probably a few more I can't recall at the moment.

Why Billfish? As you don't hook them they hook you......Below my first, a "baby" my guides wanted to keep (big money for them back then) yet they don't keep anymore http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Only decent pics I have of it (rest would take too much to edit) so forgive the missing head shot in the second.......This my first 8' est 175#, Best to date 736# Pacific Blue Marlin on heavy tackle, 300+# est. on Fly Tackle.
