View Full Version : Mod needed for Nighttime only, reduced light, Ship Recon Manual!

Is there a good mod for a dimmed, red lit, Ship Recognition Manual, for periscope view.

I only want it dimmed for nighttime use, preferably in the red lighting, and I want it regularly lit during the daytime. I also don't want the colored ship hit boxes. I just want everything else standard (cause I don't feel the color coded, ship, hit boxes, is very authentic).

Also, is there a dimmed UZO sight and dimmed manual for the UZO, nighttime only, as well?

Is this possible and availible?

Thanks! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Yes it is possible. Yes it is available. Subsim.com

But for me i go to desktop to increase gamma so i can see nicely at night time.

I like to be able to play the game. Not shoot blindly.

Only trouble with those mods (the ones I've tried anyway - maybe some are different) is they seem to dim down the actual UZO/scope viewing area as well as the recog manual/notepad areas - so while the low contrast/brightness of those books/pads is better, I still can't see the targets cause of the increased dimness of the viewing areas - so no net gain/improvement for me at least http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The actually view isn't dimmed, it's a big whole through the middle of the TGA. And the game does not distinguish between day and night when it comes to illuminating the recog manual. Whatever you have you're stuck with 24/7. I tried for a good balance, I made this myself and use it myself round the clock.

Poke through those textures as you like. There's recognition manual and UZO.tga in there. The smaller zip is sillihouttes of cargo ships with the color coded sweet spots if you're interested.

thanks - D/L'ing them now and will try them out tomorrow night - maybe it was just my imagination last time, but it sure seemed like the scope view had been dimmed too in the one I tried before - I hope this works 'cause the stock view really does have the notepad and book way too bright

Not a fan of the night either. And like MouseNo47 above I just increase the brightness. I found this tool recommended here in the forums to be very useful. You can increase the brightness in game and go back to your default settings with a keystroke.
