guys,do you like to use guns???...in AC2 i NEVER use the gun!the only time i did it was in the mission that you have to kill the guy on the ship(i don't remember his name,he was an old man with a robe like he was going to bed lol).IMO guns ruin this game BUT those guns a really old fashioned and it's ok...but if in the next AC's use more advanced guns it will be terrible!

I only ever use it for the mission in Forli when the Citadel is being attacked and the one during the Carnivale when you kill the dude on the boat.. apart from the initial practise mission of course.

Other than that,no

I actually swam round to the back of the boat, snook on and took him out. That's how much I don't use it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

IMO, it's not worth it. The throwing knives are 1) Silent, 2) You dont have to wait to aim them, and 3) They are Badass.

I never use the gun; I use throwing knives. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They're great killing people from a distance, esp when they're running across the roof, and the sprinting guards in the tombs.

And they definately are badass!

I liked them better in AC1, but they're good in the 2nd too.

I think Ezio's gun is ok. I hardly ever use it myself, but sometimes its accuracy helps with shooting down fleeing messengers/thieves. It certainly fits in with assassin's "everything is permitted" credo.

I believe there is a thread about this already, I cannot find it presently.

I'm against guns in the Assassin games myself, in my first play through I never used the gun, not even for the guy on the ship, cannot remember exactly how I got him, but it was with hidden blades and quite a messy assassination, I was very dissapointed to see rifles in the AC:B video, it just does not fit the theme in my opinion.

Now this is just an assumption, but AC:B will end with Desmond fighting the last battle, given it's present day then guns would be acceptable.

But you can't use throwing knives while chasing someone in the tomb http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

i prefer the gun over the knives because it doesn't need 2 hits for most.

I don't mind this gun i just don't want them to implement them too much in the next games!!

yeah i was ****ed that u can't use ranged weapons in tombs.

i love using range weapons just because the diffrent ways i can kill people and make it out of the area easy.

I personally like using the gun when setting up a long distance kill. For instance I get on the roof tops and take out a guard or two and line up the shot and take them out. It's a better guarantee then a throwing knife which sometimes takes two to kill.

I know a lot of people are arguing over the fact that they don't want a modern day setting for AC3 and i understand it would be tricky for the developers to keep it in line with the previous games since alarms, cameras, explosives , guns etc. would have to be intoduced and the whole experience might be changed, but i personally think if they got it right it would be awesome. I'm not saying they should base the whole thing around the present but maybe 3 or 4 missions to push the story forward a bit.
Think about it, they could change the fighting style to a kind of advanced jason bourne thing (but a hell of a lot better than the game they made from it) where you could kill a guard with like a pen or something and that would fit in with the whole "everything is permitted" line of the creed.

Also, i worked out the gun side of things has anyone heard of a film called Equilibrium with christian Bale? they could really exploit that type of precision gunplay its called gun-kata. Check it out it would work so well in this game. i reckon they should get some research done on previous games like splinter cell conviction i've seen the whole gimmicky "mark and execute" thing and i thought it was pretty good maybe if ubisoft took that and upgraded it a little bit to clear up the stealth side of things a little. I still agree that it should be mostly in past times though because sword combat still rocks.

i know this page is solely about guns but i just wanted to share a couple other ideas aswell see what others might think?

the gun is alright for long range stealth kills but not for close range counters, why not just include sword+hidden blade kills?

I never use the gun on missions, it just doesn't feel right.

But it's fun to take aim at a pickpocket/Borgia messenger and shoot them while they're in midair. Hilarious ragdoll.

Yeah...I didn't use it either for that mission. I actually just ran and jumped right onto the front of the boat and got him, lol
