This thread is for discussion of the gameplay enhancements that we hope will be in AC3 and the new features (not possible story lines)

I would like to see different factions in AC3 and more uses out the factions. First of all I would like to see each faction have a special ability. This ability will use up the faction and affect the environment in some way. Mercenaries will be posted as guards can be posted and they will not allow civilians or guard to pass them. Thefts will form a pickpocket gang and will bring there picking to one thief that will stay in one place for you to talk to and collect your share of the money and items. Courtesans can pit guards against each other. I also would like to see that you can upgrade the factions in an area if you go to their faction building. You would be able to buy armor and weapons for mercenaries and categorize them as brutes, regular soldiers, horseback mercenaries or ranged mercenaries. Finally since it is hard to find new faction with completely different uses there should be faction variants. different types of thief's courtesans and mercenaries.
A=Ability SP=Special Ability C=Cost in people

Thief Variants

Thief...A=lure C=1 SP=pickpocket gang

Smuggler...A=firecracker stun C=0 SP=plant carts, ladders, and scaffolds in environment

Spys...A=attack C=0-4 Sp=advanced mini map and hud (shows LOS of guards and patrol paths as well as ‘x-ray’ eagle vision)

Rebel...A=lure C=1 Sp=start protest (faction will spread out and gather civilians and bring them together to protest against a group of guards, then the guards will retaliate and this will cause chaos)

Courtesan variants

Courtesan...A=distract C=all Sp=mobile blend

Assassin courtesan...A=assassinate+good in combat C=0 if not detected Sp=pit one group of guards against another

Stealth courtesan Assassin...A=assassinate with poison (cannot be detected)+mediocre in combat C=0 Sp=mobile blend

Mercenary variants

Mercenaries can be customized if a faction building is owned. If not, mercenaries will be randomized in weapons but the type will best suit the location their in (horse-back mercenaries in open areas, ranged mercenaries will be on roof tops.) All mercenaries have the same abilities. A=attack C=0-all Sp=block off an area.
