Ki27 & Sally bomber alone with what we have except maps makes all actions in china & russia up till pearl possible...This being what the Flying Tigers it is my understanding mostly fought.

Exciting, but just because someone has "started" to model it unfortunately does not mean we'll get it.

Don't know, but if SaQSoN is someway behind it, then it's a serious candidate to be in some future add. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If SaQSoN is modding it, we will get it. Be Sure.

I honestly thought they fought more Ki48 Lilys and Babs. When did the Sallys come into play anyways? It's fascinating the variety in planes used in China, compared to most of the pacific.

aqctually the Ki21 came in service before the Ki48.
Ki21 autumn 1938 above china.
Ki48 autumn 1940 , also china

There were likely more Nells than Sallys or Lilys. And it was the Nell that sunk those two British capital ships off Malaysia.

But the Ki-21 is very representative of the period. Either Sally or Nell would fit the bill.

but i doubt that army fighters very often escorted navy bombers http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I wonder what also happened to the light bombers/ground attack craft of the Army that were being worked on. I thought I saw models of the Ki-51 at one point in Netwings. It would have been a good add for ai. Anyway, maybe they'll surprise us.

Bettys also participated in the destruction of Force Z.

A Nate, Sally and Nell... wouldn't they make an amazing addition to the PF stable. How old are those Nate screenshots?

To answer my own question... they were posted yesterday in a Russian forum by SaQSoN. Mr. Kochmarsky has got to be the most prolific, dependable and, debatably, talented modeller out there. I hope his Nate makes it in the game.

How right you are. The IJN and IJA *hated* to cooperate on anything!

Anybody see these screenshots on the same forum as the shots of the Ki-27. They were posted by SaQSoN on Feb. 27th. Could we possibly see an AI N1K2 in the game in the near future?

Kudos to SaQSoN for keeping the "Pacific" in Pacific Fighters.

p.s. for those wondering about the Ki-21

The Ki-21 is also in the work. If you browse the same thread on the Russian forum backwards, you may find some shots of it.
Unfortunately, this is not a paid project, so I can't give it to my modellers and I don't know when and if I'll be able to complete it myself.
Yet, I hope, I will.

You also will have at least one historical map to fly the Nate above. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif It was made by Luthier, BTW.

PS Frankly, this screenshots shouldn't have been posted on the official forum. Besides, note, that they are not, by any point, official. Consider them as good, as non-existant. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well ok, so we have seen the nate....You asked about Navy?...Remember the "Claude" A5M they showed a short while back?...

Really with the GM4, if you added the Ki-21, and for later years the one thing really lacking the Ki-45 for ground attack (Ki46 mostly recon, later a Bomber hunter) then we would really have a nice rounded out group of ground pounders.

Throw in the Ki-43 II....and then IMLTHO...IJA is set....

Torp planes are fun, but think on it....How often do you jump into an IL2T vs. another. I'd really rather see IJA/IJN over ground planes then water as the focus. Said it before, the water wars are just to get you to the ground.

Interesting opinions on Ki~44 (down the page) ~> http://yarchive.net/mil/ki-43.html

Put the torpedoes away for a bit, B6N could carry bombs and conduct ground attack. Flyable B6N would allow later war ground attack missions.

Very good article Lexx, I would love to see a Ki-44 in PF, especially if we get the dutch east indes map..etc. I never really thought of how the Ki-43 was kept into production while the Ki-44 was not. Also..it does not seem to have as bad matinence problems that the tony had so the authors points seem valid. I especially like the point about the Ki-43 vs the P-39. I'm not good online and only recently started, but if there is one fighter I don't mind fighting in a an Oscar with it is a P-39D1-2..those mgs are deadly then.

Didn't some B6N also see service with oblique mounted cannons for the bommber destroyer role? That would be an interesting addition to the PF stable.

isnt that nate shot from over 2 years ago back when il2center was up and running, I remember it being one of the first models there before fb was even developed. Another one from way back when was the MB-152 which looked completed cockpit lods damage layers etc. I dunno what ever happened to it looks like the same one inn the battle of france addon for bob

one is definatly needed along with the claude badly, they also need to make the f2a-2 site telescopic.

And change the telescopic site of the val and ki43 back to 100 fov gunsite view for some reason they changed it to around 85 fov.

Almost no one will use the f2a2 at all becuase of the gunsite, the telescopic view is more complicated but an advantage and great for dive bombing in the val.

the b239 site also got messed up during the change

Agreed. The "Iron dog" is meat on the table for any IJN/IJA fighter. Always an easy kill.

Not something I've heard about for the B6N, but the similar-looking recon C6N Saiun (fastest IJN plane of the war, by some accounts) was so adapted. Most had 20mm cannon sticking out of the middle of the cockpit, and one model had a 30mm cannon. The latter actually saw some action, too. Would be nice to have against those B-29s...
