Well, actually I got them about a month ago. My 2004 Callaway Big Bertha Irons with steel shafts. Allready improved my game by 15 strokes, and have never hit such a sweeter feeling club. I don't know if any of yall play golf, but you should really try these clubs! Not only are they very forgiving, give excelent backspin, and awesome loft, they also help the time go by waiting on this patch. So basically why some of you have been working on your gunnery skills, I've been working on my golf game. Don't mean to brag, but my online playing is above par, and so is my squads. So I had to devert my free time to something else. But hey, If you do chase the little white ball around let me know what your hitting with, I'm still looking for a better driver and fairways. Right now I got my eye on the callaway 454.

They sound over-modelled.

Ahh but there not. They took at least two weeks to get the notch weight perfected. And then took another two weeks to get the offset perfected. A few people have questioned their uberness against the taylor made RAC's and the Nike slingshot's, but all data reflects that they are modeled perfectly. The damage model is a little over done, as they are a high polished stainless steel head and scuff way to easily. Maybe Callaway will correct this in the 2005 model. Either way I'm playing Kiawha Islands Cassique course in 2 weeks. Be very sure of that!!!

Why is it that I always hit the dammed ball sideways? I want it to go strait - but no, it has fly off at a 90 degree angle.

Mayby, I should just stroke towards the woods insead. That all being said, typed, and thoughtlesy thought of, I hate golf.

Golf is for leftover South African apartheid water-wasters whose single pleasure in life is abusing the underpaid staff and wearing orange socks and not feeling guilty about it.

What did ya give for yer irons and where? New tech has made a real differance in my wife's game. She bought a Ping Titanium driver and a set of Cobra Irons. Her game has improved a lot. I still have Dept store clubs, cause I spend all my $$$ on this **** computer! That may soon change, I'm about to put off my next upgrade for some real clubs. Well, maybe... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Never been to South Africa, What is a staff, where I play, I am the staff, and I don't own any orange socks.... I hate Golf stereotypes!

The ball CAN go straight?!?!

I use a set of Nickel Ping ISI irons 2-LW. An Orlimar 4W and Callaway 3W & Driver. Depending on the state of my game I'll rotate the 2i and 4W. I used to play quite a bit and took the game WAY too seriously. Had my index down to 1.2 and made it through regional qualifying 3 times for the US Open...but alas. The ol' handicap is back up to 4 and I just don't play enough to do much better. Work, 5 kids, a Wife...FB. They all demand so much of my time and if I have to choose, then golf suxorz hind teat. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I paid $600, and got them from edwin watts website. We have an edwin watts in town, but they were just a little bit cheaper online. They also gave me free fittings for the clubs if I decide to do that! They shipped UPS out of Florida so it only took me about 2 days to get them. Basically I ordered them on a monday and got them by that thursday. My girlfriend also got the Laddies Big bertha gems, with a heavenwood hybrid and the laddies callaway 454 driver. Her set came out to be around $130o, and she loves them.

I'd say it was you working on your game that led you to improve by 15 rather than the clubs.

Just a thought.

LOL! The green fields I can take, just not the little white balls being wacked with thin sticks! Football, yes, Rugby yes... but what is there in Golf? I was quite surprised to hear Samuel L Jackson`s an avid golf player too. Doesn`t quite go with his mean reputation... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I tell you what, I used to feel the same way about golf as some of you do. It seemed like a pretty stupid game, chasing around a little white ball and all. I've been playing soccer for about 20 years, and I love all full contact sports. But golf really suprised me how hard, and yet relaxing this game can be. Until you've tried it don't knock it. And yes working on my swing contributed to my score improving, but having a well made club makes all the difference in the world. And as for as Samuel Jackson goes, it doesn't suprise me at all that he loves the game. Heck there are more professional athletes playing and loving this game. The most suprising athlete for me to see playing was George Rodgers. He played my college team the carolina Gamecocks, and the Washington Redskins. What also suprised me is that he shoots in the 70's!!! And what is in golf you ask seafire, the relaxation of being out doors in some of the prettiest landscape settings, spending time with your buds, a game that challenges you not a team, and my favorite, the ability to carry a cooler full of beer and drink till your hearts content. And you won't get a DUI for driving the golf cart lol.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif Bloodfist, that is spot-on, my friend!

I was a 25 round a year man for about eight glorious seasons. Unfortunately growing families and guys moving away put an end to that lifestyle, for now anyway.

Once I was doubting whether playing golf or seeing my nails growing, and chose the latter as the cheaper and funnier option. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Golf is like sex -in the third age. It hurts the back, it's uninspiring to see by third ones, it needs a lot of preliminaries, the ball enters the hole with difficulty, and it's necessary to be a sick guy to not zapping to another TV channel when it's on air. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Save water. You'll need it when your checkered trousers burn spontaneously due to too vivid hot colors. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Golf. A game where you hit a ball with a stick because you cant be bothered to bend down. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
No offence or anything...

I've had a set of Mizuno Pro forged irons for a few years now, and they're the best irons I've ever owned. I did like the Calaway irons but found the trampoline effect of the face made your bad shots go even farther bad, hehe.
Since I retired and found a good arthritus drug I can almost play to my 3 handicap. Its still tough to beat all the sandbaggers at my club, lol.

Golf is: A game of Mind, Body, and Soul. It is the ultimate test of ones metal, patience, and precision. I care little if I beat you for the "course" and my ownself are the more formidable of opponets. That is all the challenge needed. There is no perfection only a sense of adequacy for a time. Dress as you will, the course could care less.

It is not a game for everyone and certainly not the weak, for you will know defeat and misery at your own hands. It is truth, honesty, and courage. I will never be a Golfer. I will always play Golf.

Read a little ditty called "Golf In the Kingdom".

Nice "sticks" and congrats. I assemble my own.
