I just got both engines wrecked in a game i was having and noticed there is no way to lose in this game. The only option was to press escape which transported my wrecked sub back to base in six days and let me repair it.

Since i was off the coast of england i would have been captured but this wasnt moddeled http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I thought, well if i run out of fuel will teh same situation develop, i just sit there or press escape and transport back. Im more then a little gutted. They need the "abandon ship" button and this would be fixed since that is the option i should have had.

Come on devs get on it!! :P

Historically, if you'd run out of fuel.. depending on the wartime situation, they'd have sent another sub to transfer enough fuel to get you to a replenishment sub. So you might well have made it back to base.

With all engines wrecked the situation is somewhat different of course, but I'm sure you're aware you could have simply ended the campaign - admiting to yourself that you have been caught out by superior enemy AI and the game is over for you. Not that it matters, but the DevTeam did say it would be possible to transfer fuel between subs.

But they said a lot of things.

(Taskforce1x1): If we are out of fuel and our engines stop is the game over?
(Devteam): Your navigator will always watch the fuel level and advise you to the best course of action and when is the best time to return home. Even in the event you run completely out of fuel, there may be options still open to you, although your career will surely be affected by such careless seamanship. ---------------

I was leaving port on one mission and noticed a German Aux Cruiser and decided for giggles to save and torp it and see what happened. After I docked it showed me as having no score for that patrol and I went to reload the game and notice it listed me as dead. Shot I presume http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The game will end if you do poorly on too many patrols. That is, if you keep getting negative reknown, they'll sack ya.

Yeah i did this, i asked everyone at my website and they said that i was doomed (something i realised but didnt want to admit!) but i thought that it should be in there as a game ending. Everygame should have a lose screen!!

This game doesnt and it leaves you a bit gutted all round. Like when you are killed in campaign and it doesnt even tell you how much total tonnage ect.

This needs polishing in my opinion though i guess most people havent noticed because they reload or whatever.

I agree. When the end does come it's a bit of a letdown.

Hey, dom.
Yeah, I agree! I think there is alot of things missing in this game. But it still is a great game that is loaded with detail. We can only cross our fingures and hold our breath.

I've said this before, I think we got a beta version and not a gold version. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Kinda like Enigma: Rising Tide. You can download the Gold Patch for it now. I'm waiting for the same thing with SH3!

I would agree/admit that SHIII is closer to a Beta version than Gold.

There are so many things missing and so many bugs.

When I play the game I often think " how the hell did they miss this??? " or " Surely they must have seen that??? " etc etc

I mean an abovious error that bugs me is when you change speed and the guys says "Gross Fahrte" instead of "Halb Fahrte".
How would you miss that if you tested it?????

So yeah, this aint gold its bronze!

This patch thats coming out real soon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif better be like 50 megs in size and not a 800K touch up !
