It is the fact that it is 128 bit as opposed to 256 bit, i.e its the "lite" version.

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - G√ľnther Rall

I think your refering to the card that said it was a 256MB but only ran at 128MB? If so I cant remember where it was posted or what the whole topic was about.

Edit: ahh, question answered above, but look at the bottom of the page: no insurance offered for shipping. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gifWouldnt want something broken showing up. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Ok Toad...you know what i am upgrading to. Even though i will not buy this now, how much of a difference is there between the 5900 from nvidia and the 9800pro(256bit version) from ati? Actually anyone who knows the differnce, your opinion is apreciated

Forget the fx5900, this is the best price i could find on the 9800pro(256bit). What do you guys think?

Pretty good price! And its pretty too.

I went for the ATI card by ATI though, But its still your choice. I went with Steve_V advice and stayed with the original manufacture.

I got mine here.http://www.buyxtremegear.com/r9800pro256.html Note I spent for the 256 meg memory one. Instead of the 128 memeory.

As others have already stated, DO NOT buy this card. It is more akin to a 128 Bit 9500 than a 9800 PRO. You can find genuine ATi 256 Bit cards for about $30.00 more.
