From an American evaluation report regarding a captured Messerschmitt-109F, is the P-40 in FB really more maneuverable than Me-109F?

The P-40 FM was changed a bit in the last patch. It probably could outturn a 109F now, at least in level turns.

Manuevrability doesn't always refer to turn rate, it can also refer to roll rate. The P-40 had a fairly good rate of roll, the Bf-109E had a fairly poor rate of roll. They mention the 109F as being improved over the 109E, would this refer to roll or turn?

and some things just surprise you

like the fact that when fw190's created havoc with low level scud running ground attack missions on coastal england (spits couldnt get near them)the Typhoon turned out to be faster and more manouverable at low level than the 190

The P-40 is a great furball fighter, its only downside is its climb rate. I love the cockpit view, its good in the verticle, handles OK at high speeds, rolls great, and turns great. And soaks up damage and can sure dish it out.

I notice that the .303 rounds couldn't penetrate the fueltank armour and ignite the aircraft. The 109 is a very light plane, so I still don't understnad why in FB the .303 seem to be able to easily ignite everything, and kill pilots.

This is the name of the ammunition, not the name of the MG http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
