Just wondering if the fine ubi 1c staff noticed american ac rudders in 4.0 are swaying back and forth like they are ductaped on, They sway back and forth left to right 6 times to each side but russian brit german and japan just do one sway back and forth one time then center.

Just dont want something like that getting past in final http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif S,

And yes we all realize its still WIP but close to being done.

The whole addition of Yaw due to torque has caused problems IMO. I do agree that at lower speeds the planes need to have significant yaw, but my beef is when you're in a highspeed dive in the D9, the yaw will hit equilibrium, then suddenly slam in the opposite direction.

Of course, the trim should start to force the plane to roll the other direction as speed passes equilibrium, but it happens so fast that there's no logical way it could be accurate.

*sigh* Oh well.

One thing I would like included is the heavy right rudder required to keep the P-40's nose straight in a dive.

This was a very prominent characteristic. As speed picked up rapidly in a dive (the P-40 was a very good diver), left yaw grew quickly to the point where the pilot nearly had to stand on the right rudder to keep the plane headed straight.

Heck, there were jokes about being able to tell a P-40 pilot by his asymmetrically muscled legs. It was a significant aspect of the P-40's flight characteristics, and it was even more prominent since Tomahawks often used high-speed diving and slashing attacks.

The P-40 had rudder trim.

From the tomahawk pilot's manual:
6. Trim Tabs - The adjustable trim tabs for the rudder and elevators [sic] controls are located at the port side of the cockpit near the pilot's seat, and work in the same plane as the controls concerned. The elevator wheel has a crank handle for rapid adjustment. Dials at the hand wheels indicate the positions of the tabs. [ES: the ailerons [also had] a cockpit trim control which was located in front and just below the rudder trim vertical to the rudder trim.]

Probably thinking of the 109. That saying about the uneven lower leg is often heard about that plane.

Hi all,patch 4 beta 05 was more energy fighting and more realistic then beta 07.I cant understand why they are heading back to 3.04 they have already removed slide effect and now there is no energy fighting in 07.
Lets just wait and see.

I agree with you zim. Now in this beta 07 it is the same as 3.04 just tunned down the plane behaviors, yes no energy fighting like it was in 05. Beta 05 was unique you needed to think and save power..exactly what oleg said about how patch 4 will be, as it is in 07 it isnt like that. They maybe are testing these slow behaviors with the old fm..
