Hi all!
I have a question.
What is the programming language used for development applications such as IL2 manager, lowengrin dinamic campaing generator or quick mission tuner.
What is the most popular language for make this kind of applications?.

i suspect Visual Basic, but have no proof

from the look, they aren't Java, writing them in C++ would be too much time, so that makes Visual Basic my candidate

HL is Visual Basic for sure

but check with the writer of the different software pieces, if you want to be certain

do you have an application on your mind, perhaps?

You're welcome. We shoot each other on a daily basis, but this is a nice community anyhow http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

For your purpose, Visual Basic will be fine as a start. It requires far less preparation than other languagues, you can actually start writing the program on the keyboard. But keep in mind, that it is also the least reliable programming language, exactly because it leaves a lot in the hands of the programmer (perfect, when you get it right, disaster when you get it wrong). Java for example (AWT = Abstract Windowing Toolkit) is much more demanding on preparations, have to think about a lot of "structural issues (what classes, what methods) before event touching the keyboard for writing the first lines. But this will make your program much more reliable and fault-resistant at the end of the day...

Good luck http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
