Hi everyone,

As we all wait (or not ?) for the upcoming 4.0 patch,
I recently found here a post searching for my work...

So, in order to upgrade it or to make another one, what are your opinion about it ?
-Did you encountered problems during installation ? during play ?
-Was the campaign interesting ? enough or too long ?
-Did someone made the whole one (from 1941 to 1943 with 4 transfers) ?
-Others remarks ?

Thank's for all your answers http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I found it fun to play, but at the time I wasn't completely familiar with DCG and this led to problems when I wanted to play a normal campaign, which forced me unfortunately to just give up and delete DCG. But for your part, it was brilliant. If only you didn't have to fiddle with so much.
The actual missions were a lot of fun, good variety of mission types, times of day etc. I had a particularly good day when I became and ace in a day with my Falco http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Good work GilB http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

****, I'd really better get my *** into gear over that 'idiots guide to DCG' I've been promising everyone. Thing is, Tailspin over at JGII already has an incredibly extensive documentation for DCG - only thing is that one big document, intimidating to read, so mostly nobody bothers.

Anyway - to go back to play standard campaigns (old DGen) is as simple as deselecting the 'Replace DGen.exe' option in DCG. It copies back your backup DGen and deletes the DCG version.

@GilB: Of what I've played of your campaign so far I was fairly impressed - the map has a few surprises and the missions are up to the calibre you expect from DCG campaigns http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Loved the skinpack too - been very handy during several squad wars.

However, I mostly use DCG to play NGen campaigns, which thus far aren't supported by MedWar. However, Paul Lowengrin did say it was quite easy to add NGen definitions to a 3rd party DCG campaign - and not so difficult to link them into a grand campaign aka DGen, either, so I may check that out.

But heeey - so could you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

No problems during the install - I was concerned that you were still replacing some stock DCG files, but it looks like that was all sorted out.

Probably a little early to ask about the whole campaign http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I play quite regularly, but I'm still yet to make it past 1942 in most of my campaigns - and a DCG campaign can be VERY long without time limitations (added in DCG 3.12).

Well as for an idiots guide to the DCG, that would fit me fine. However there are various levels of idiocy.

Managed to fluke it out once and get it to work. Tried several other times including reading the intructions till I went blind and it's always a no go.

If idiots are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, I would be a 15 when it comes to computer stuff. So any help getting the DCG to work with the Med. campaign would be awesome.

Just started your campaign (Africa 41). I flew only 5 or 6 missions so far. But looks very god. Lot of action, lot of fun. Hope you will create some more campaigns.

and a DCG campaign can be VERY long without time limitations

I put limitations : every map shouldn't exceed 2 months before translation (except in case of victory for one side), BUT the last one, Africa 43" may continue forever if if no victory occurs ... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
A french player began the Africa 41 italian campaign and transfered to Malta with his whole squadron after around 50 missions.

over that 'idiots guide to DCG' I've been promising everyone

I also vote for this guide ! Despite I made this campaign, some DCG options remain unclear for me !

So any help getting the DCG to work with the Med. campaign would be awesome.

I did my best with this readme file ... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif anyway, I answered to everyone who sent me an e-mail explaining his problem...

Any other opinion ?
