What is S3TC texture compression and why did it make my new 9800 Pro work so much better in combintation with setting the mipmap filter to anisotropic? I am now amazed at what this Radeon card can do with this game.

If you are fimiliar with the US its easiest to compare the S3TC and why it works with Keebler Elvish magic....I don't really have any idea how either one does what it does but boy do I like the finished product. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Seriously though I had some stutter that seemed to clear up without the compression enabled. could be more a case of 2.5 P4 and a rather weak MB than my 9800 pro because I run a lot of hi eyecandy settings
