Its not like the devs created Uboat Ai then didnt bother to add other submarines, you're talking about lines and lines of code that would be needed to instruct an AI submarine how to behave in an all manner of situations- think about how you play SH3, then think about trying to program a computer to do the same, not somthing a modder can easily fix.

The lack of Sub AI means no wolf packs, no enermy submarines etc, someone made a mod so subs can move around and shoot with the deck and flak guns, all they did was some how apply ship AI to Uboats. So they cannot submerge, evade depth charges or conduct torpeedo attacks.

Oh yeah! there is no AI for torpeedo attacks either!!! hence Elcos are harmless and no plane or destroyer is able to launch torpeedos!

Shame SH3 is so unfinnished. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Sorry JU88 but I don't agree with you. "Aces of the deep" is an U-boat game old 10 year and in this game the AI for wolf packs is well simulated. I think that for SHIII it's only a "commercial" decision...
Ubisoft will put wolf packs on a "expansion disk" so we will be obliged to spend other money...

And were these AOD AI commanders 'aggresive'. Should you dare to go near them, they'll be after you like a pack of wolves.

Hey! Remember that Mediterraneum and Elektro Boats were added as a extra disc! The original game had only the atlantic. So is not strange to have this kind of commercial issues.

Also, this is the first game in the Silent Hunter series that doesn't have sub AI: in the first one, I managed to sank -and was sank sometimes- a bunch of japanese subs. In the second one, alwas there was a naughty british sub ready to put an eel or two in your ship... unless you were kind enought to send them to make a loooong visit to Costeau. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
