Awesome! Massive! Been playing FB online, offline, any way I could. This program makes it like a new game again for me. All kinds of different senarios. Fly for any side you want to. It keeps records of your victories and defeats. I didn't even know it was out there. Whoever created this program, TTTTTTHHHHHHHHAAAAAAANNNNNNKKKKKKSSSSSSS!!!!!!! For those who haven't experienced a whole new world of missions, and yes, online coop missions,

http://www.mudmovers.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htmt

is where to dl it. It's simple and easy to understand. Fantastic instructions. Man I feel revived and excited again. I don't think the upcoming patch will get me this fired up. Thanks again to the creator(s) of this program! S!

Hey Striker,

it's even better once you tweak different object densities (you can do it manually in the ini file or download a utility like Il-2 Stab) and download real pilot photos for your rosters! I got all real Russian and German pilot pictures in there for my rosters. Sort of neat. You can look at the details of your own career pilot with an authentic Russian/German pilot photo! To take it step even futher, the Il-2 Stab will let you have the 'real' looking medals and authentic markings on your planes!

Stubby, Striker was not talking about the excellent (as you point out indeed) Starshoy's DGen included in FB, but the excellent as much 3rd party application by Lowengrin (spelling?), the IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator.

And yes, it is awesome, singleplayer/coop immersion is way up. Lots of objects all over the front, multiple battles going on, lots of aircraft in the air... If you use external views it places static cameras at key locations, fun to watch the ground battles while I'm waiting for my turn to take off. To top everything off it integrates seamlessly with FB after you've set it up, it's just like playing a regular campaign.

The ultimate setup would be VEF using DCG to generate missions. Would probably need to modify it heavily though, and I'm not sure how likely it is, since VEF is Starshoy's pet project. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Kudos to both of 'em for providing free stuff that adds to the fun for the rest of us.

Let me ask, is it stable and continous in war progress?

dcg is absolutely faboulus.
i converted net2summer for it which makes for a fantastic continous coop experience as unfortunately the included netmountains has enemy planes crashing into mountains all the time if you play russian and netislands was not to my taste.

if there is interest i ll upload it.

Is it much better than the included FB campaign? Is it worth installing?

thanks

i guess it depends what you want out of IL2

i like to have heaps of flights and ground units on a map that might have nothing to do with my mission but if i so chose i can attack them... on the way home maybe with the remaining ammo... and i know that every kill counts.

also it can be used to create ongoing coop scenarios.

for me there is no question... DCG all the way http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

thanks. I downloaded it but didn't install it yet. I am currently playing a russian fighter campaign in Lenningrad. I am seeing a pattern of the missions though. We always seem to get attacked by two or maybe four bf-109s and they are always killed pretty quick. Completed six missions without a kill yet. Are the missions more exciting in the new generator, more variety?

thanks

just be careful and back up your campaigns before you install it. it wiped out my cheerished 190 campaign.. but that was a small price to pay http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My US squaddies, 4./JG52 and 5./JG52 (US) fly missions nearly every night (US time) from Hyperlobby. We use full real plus speedbar and anyone is welcomed to come fly with/against us.

We are currently on an early 1941 Smolensk campaign, and it is truly a blast. Sometimes we get VVS guys to fly against us, sometimes it's AI only. But either way, it's a lot of fun.

DCG is a great IL2/FB third party program!

To answer the question about the amount of action in a mission, that depends. If you just follow the waypoints you might get missions that are "milk runs" at times (realistic IMHO), but the ground war will still be going on. Go looking for trouble and you _will_ find it. If bomber/JABO missions are your thing you'll be busy busy busy.

Since DCG is scalable you can choose how much activity there will be according to your pc specs. If you have a good graphics card/cpu you can up the campaign options and have lots of planes and lots of ground units, which really gives the feel that there's a war on, not just a separated series of small skirmishes.

Just a quick note. I noticed when selecting the Moscow/Typhoon Campaign Folder all missions generated were for the Crimea 1941 campaign. Bug?

using verion 2.29

Damn, you're right Aeronautico! I was trippin. I need to imbibe my coffee before replying.

DCG (I have 2.28) is an awesome tool. The group I fly with have been using it for some time now doing coop grand campaigns. The single player career is very good as well but you have to be careful to find the right balance of object densities or DCG generated missions could bring your PC to crawl. Rumor has it that a future version of DCG will track bridges! Imagine the implication of that!

I would report all bugs and/or problems directly to Paul (the author) at:

http://forums.jagdgeschwader1.com/

where he has a dedicated DCG forum.

I use DCG and find it a wonderful add-on for FB and really fleshes out the "war atmospohere" for me. It is extremely configurable and Paul is always willing to listen to input.

Very small when compared to DCG. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Those of you that have downloaded the USAAF campaign folder Gold edition will find that there is a folder of US pilot portraits for using DCG as a DGen replacement.

I'm flying a dynamic USAAF campaign set in Berlin 1944 with US pilots in my squadron roster!
