Black Sabbath's '78 "Never Say Die"-Recorded in Toronto-Ozzie's last album with Sab http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif and not the greatest they made...but still blows the snot outta ANYthing they did with Dio, or Gillan, or whoever those other guys were...anyhow, theres also an image from the back sans crew, but i dont have that ATM...the plane is a real harvard/texan/SNJ...inside jacket has line drawings of the funky nose breathers on the crew...still dont know if they really existed or were made up for the album...anyone know?

ah...Bom-Ber (as Lemmy would call it)...a frikkin AW-some album ('79)...not enough can be said about this album, or Motorhead in general...pure genius!...THIS is an album i would urge anyone to try to find...includes the song "bomber"...Lemmy wrote it after reading Len Deighton's great book "bomber" (ironic, aint it?) (Deighton also wrote "fighter", and "blietzkrieg", at least)...about this album and motorhead?...those in the know....know http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
an He-111 with what looks to be twin cannon in the ventral bathtub, plus a chin turret, artistic licence to allow a thrid visage of a band member...that of "philthy animal" Phil Taylor..."fast" Eddie Clarke is flying, and Lemmy Kilmister in the nose turret

I remembered the "Seven Wishes" album cover from when I was a kid; I can vividly remember standing in a K-Mart and absorbing the artwork for several minutes. I've never listened to the album though.

The Pl-01 marking on he back of the Blue Oyster Cult album, reveal this plane to in fact be a Czech made Avia C-92. (postwar made from surplus airframes.)

sky pilot had nothing to do with pilots or flying, actually...

US army grunts used to call army chaplins "sky pilots"...the song was basically a vietnam war protest song

Owns another one, unfortunately it's a jet.
"Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters" by Bob Calvert (1974). An album with songs about the F104G. Tracks like "The Widowmaker", "The Gremlin", "Ejection" and so on. Not a positiv piece of lyrics on the whole album.

Mike Oldfield's "Five Miles Out"

Kind of obvious and not military, but my music roots go deep. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Cool idea for a thread, Daii. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Not album, but just as interesting. I once saw a cigarrete display at a convenience store. The art had, basically, a plane with very close resemblance to Sukhoi Su-15 (no markings) taking off an aircraft carrier. Imagine that. By far the closest aircraft to match the picture would be Su-15, although the artists made one significant change -- memory is telling me it was semi-circular inlets instead of the normal reptangular inlets of the -15. Perhaps the ciggarette marketing people knew that the -15 was one of the hottest looking planes ever made, and touched it up a bit, and added an aircraft carrier to complete the picture. I believe it was a Camel ciggarette display...yes, I recall the Camel camel wearing his/her sunglasses. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
