Hey guys i just got a few questions about the Dora.

I love flying A6 at the moment becouse of the fact that it's a bit lighter then the A9 so if you have to do a bit of turning it does it pretty well for an FW.I know that you shouldn't really turn much in an FW but when flyin on the server's i like(334th and AFJ) there are quiet a few LA'a and spits and the like so sometimes you need to turn a bit to get a snapshot at these maneuverable planes.

Now I'v read here(A lot) that the Dora is much better for this kind of flyin, but i just cant seem to get the speed out of it that ppl say its capable of.

I'm usein auto prop pitch as I'v read a few times it performs much better like this but i find i'm still gettin out dived by spits and other planes when try to get the hell out of dodge after a botched pass(which is a bit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif)I keep the radiator closed when makin an attack and open it again when i get back to altitude.

I also use the mustang D and have no problems gettin away(most times:/)when i need to,but according to hardballs planes comparer the dora is about 10-15km faster depending on the altitude your at.So what am i doin wrong?? I would really love to get into this plane as it sounds like a VERY capable plane when used right and I'v always had a thing for the FW's http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

any suggestions would be most welcome and appreciated.

Flown lone-wulf like I do on open pit servers, the FW190 is an assassin, a high-speed killer - not a dogfighter.

Most of my victories on 334th and AFJ are assassinations, not low alt. circle jerks.

FW190 is a tactical fighter.

Don't be a fool and rush in. Have the patience to climb and put yourself in the best tactical situation, high and fast.

Think with a hunters mentality -
1. Situational awareness
2. Altitude/Climb
3. Speed
4. Keep the engine cool.
5. Kill

When you have energy and altitude over an enemy plane - do not hesitate to attack - attack instantly and with great speed.

In my experience the Dora offers no cruising speed advantage below 2500m. I usually take it to 3500m and patrol for unsuspecting reds below me. Ideal targets are 2000m to 2500m and maybe not paying attention to what is above them. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

You can outrun almost everything the reds have to offer if you go into a shallow dive. Of course nothing will save you if you're below 2000m and have used up all your E trying to turn and burn with an LA5.

Scissoring is always a good place to start if your low and slow.

The Dora can escape even the La7 in a shallow climb from the deck though.
