Yes, I know, we haven't even got BoB yet, but if you think about something, isn't it better to suggest way in advance so that if someone like the idea they could start developing it?

Obviously BoB will have early war planes, but as a possible expansion, I think (personally) that an expansion pack that shows how the Luftwaffe was such a strength at the start of WW2, i.e where their skills were developed would be worthy of an expansion pack/add-on.

Would this be of interest to anyone else? I'm just thinking out loud because if it was to be developed, now would be the time to let the guys at 1C know about it.

This is some info on the planes and the Luftwaffe at the time:

You can download some excellent Spanish Civil War missions and skins now for il2. I spend a lot of offline time flying a Polikarpov I-16 for the Republican Airforce againts those dirty facists..viva la Republica!

I would rather see SOW move forward through WWII. Most important to me would be flyable heavy bombers, large maps....but as a side note, SOW should have started with the Spanish Civil War, since so much was learned there by LW pilots

I would love to see a SCW-sim! You have everything in there, except of carrier warfare (air-to-air, air-to-ground, air-to-sea, tactical bombings, strategical bombings, airlifts...). You have a wide range of planes, from many different nations, piloted by many different nations' men, beginning with WWI-style bi-planes and tactics ending with high tech and new tactics. Moreover a nice landscape... simply a dream-sim.

However, not very popular, I fear.

Flatspin's incredible Legion Kondor Campaign:
Legion Kondor (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=20)

Duruz's Campaign Espagne :
Espagne (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=39)

Together they have been downloaded more than 2000 times. We have a new map on the 334th server with an early plane set (Gladiators, hurri's, P-11, I-153's, Emil's) that is VERY popular. Don't be too quick to write off the popularity of these early plane sets - it takes a LOT of plane handling skills to be consistently successful.

It seems like a no brainer to me. It's not as if there are any existing SCW sims to compete with a professionaly done add-on. It's a fresh plane set and a somewhat obscure conflict waiting to be exploited by an enterprising game developer. And this seems to be exactly what 1C specializes in doing.
