View Full Version : Quick Question about IL2-1946

I recently bought '46 and was curious about something after my first afternoon with it. I went to start a new USAF campaign hoping to be able to fly a campaign in europe, but I didnt see anything. Then I check with the RAF campaigns, and the only thing it shows is the pacific theater from Pacific Fighters... Just wondered if there was a european theater for the USAF and the RAF.

'Battle over Europe' is an add-on containing action for Western Europe...

Here's a Review (http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_110a.html) on it at SimHQ...

Have Fun!

Oh, and checkout Mission4today (http://www.mission4today.com/) for community made missions/campaigns...

There are a crapload of scripted Western Europe campaigns at mission4today. You can also download DCG, or Enjoyrpatch (Or both, but I've had no joy with both combined), both of which adjust your dynamic campaigns.

You can find the Dynamic Campaign Generator (DCG) at www.lowengrin.com (http://www.lowengrin.com) and Enjoyrpatch at mission4today.

If you encounter problems or questions concerning DCG, post back here. I will be able to help with any thing you need. Also, stay tuned, as I am going to release a DCG tutorial in the near/distant future.

"Battle Over Europe" has protected status because its DGen campaigns were written by the guy who wrote most of the other DGen campaigns that come with 1946. Thus, no Western Europe campaigns are in the stock game or else nobody would want to buy BOE. The Normandy and Ardennes maps were constructed specifically for BOE.

BOE was the first project by the company that went on to partner with Maddox Games to produce Pacific Fighters, Pe-2 Peshka, Sturmoviks Over Manchuria, and '46. I suspect that if BOE wasn't licensed by a different publisher than the official IL-2 series, it might also have been included on the 1946 DVD. But that's just speculation on my part.
