Absolutely stunning work.

It reminds me of many years ago when someone built a large scale Ferrari GTO (or some similar Ferrari, can't remember the exact model now), the attention to detail was incredible. Then the owner actually started the engine! Sounded great as well, entirely hand built by himself, valves, cams etc. Worked beautifully.

Would'nt it be great if that Merlin could spring into life!

Since first reading this thread I've been trying to find some pictures I took of a 1/5 scale Griffon engine I saw at a model engineering show I went to a few years back.

Couldnt find the photos I took, but found a site of what I reckon is the same, but its not a Griffon after all, Its an Eagle, as used in the Westland Wyvern.

So just pretend its a Type 388 Sea - Spitty, and this is a Griffon :
