Hello there!

Some old schoolers might remember my dreyer vs Hartmann "game" where I tried to accomplish as many kills as possible online without dying (reached 282).

The website went down a few years ago but now I've managed to get the site and tracks restored.

If anyone is interested in these relics from 2004 you can now access it and 99% of the tracks are available for download here:

http://www.aveimil.com/IL2/

An audio commentary (with .ntrk) I did for learning purposes is also available for download here:

http://www.aveimil.com/IL2/dre...audio_commentary.zip (http://www.aveimil.com/IL2/dreyer_A6M2_audio_commentary.zip)

Sadly, Iím not flying anymore and donít have any short term plans to start up again as Iím too busy trying to be competitive with StarCraft 2. But if a new IL2 is released in the near future (whatís up with that (BoB?)) I might start flying again, who knows.

Anyway, this place brings back good memories, nice to say hello again.

Cheers!

Welcome back.

Nice to see the info all back.

Just a small point though.

You have accidentally included this section twice at the bottom.

Deaths that will be disregarded:

* Internet Lag Collisions. Have you ever gone head on with someone, clip your opponent and see your wing come off while he flies around like nothing happened? This is an lag collision as on your screen your aircraft actually hits him but on his screen your aircraft is in a different position relative to him. In this case I will always evaluate the track to see if I in fact clipped my opponent or not.
* Friendly Fire Deaths. I cannot control what any random idiot will do to me on my own team so this will not be counted.
* AA Fire in general unless it is above enemy airfield. Mainly because many maps have AA in the center of maps making it very random and likely to be killed eventually when flying on the same servers repeatedly.
* Lag kills. I.e. someone is 500 meters behind me in a turn and shoots and hits. If the bullets are more than 20-30 meters from my aircraft and yet it hits I *may* void the entire thing (seen on the track).
* Chute Shooters. Once I've bailed, I've bailed and that's that.
* Other anomalies...

Hi, good to see you back.
I had a few of your tracks some time ago including
the tutorial with the Zero.
Very informative.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
cheers,
Ibis.

Its great to see these tracks back up, they helped me no end when I was a novice.

Also they should no doubt quieten anyone saying that the Bf109 in IL2 is useless!

Some of your 7-10 kill 109 sorties vs La7's and Spits on full real servers are just astounding.

I remember your ntrks. Learned quite a bit from viewing them when I first started in IL2. I didn't keep them as I had very limited space on my HD at the time. Downloading everything I can ATM but I've noticed quite a lot of the links have the same file name so I can get the one ntrk on a particular date but not some of the others. Just wondering if they're are actually the same file as some of them seem to be a different size. Good to see your site up again, those tracks are very entertaining as well as informative. Thank you.

Hi, good to see you around.
There are thousands of self-proclaimed experts, but only a handful of those dare to publish their tracks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
The Zero vs. P-40 should have been mandatory viewing for all newcomers to this game.

For those who don't know you: this guy found TrackIR too slow for combat purpose and used the keypad! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif So much for the myths of superior equipment... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

The links coupled with the kill list do often link to the same .ntrk download because the kills were done on the same sortie. Generally 1 sortie = 1 .ntrk. So yes, they are the same file.

If you downloaded a file with the same name twice and noticed they had different file sizes something must have gone wrong with the download (only explanation I have).

Are there any live chats for IL2 available? I'd like to ask some questions to people active in the community...

The only live chat currently active that I'm aware of is the chat in the IL2 room at Hyperlobby. There used to be an IL2 IRC room run by Ubi but it shut down years ago and afaik hasn't ever been revived.
Some of the squads may run their own IRC rooms, you could try running through the linked web sites in the Active Squadron List (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/458457-IL2-Active-Squadron-List) and see if any list chat functions. Much as I hate facebook, you might also check if there's an IL2 facebook page being run by someone.

Also, many squads run TS or Ventrilo servers, if you ask politely they may let you join their server as a guest and ask questions that way.
