View Full Version : Please Remove Copy Protection on Assassin's Creed II PS3 Saves

My PS3 has just YLODed when playing Assassin's Creed II and I have lost roughly 20 hours worth of progress because the data is now corrupted, I have since fixed my PS3 but cannot recover the saved data due to corruption.
Because of copy protection I couldn't backup my save before my PS3 YLODed and have thus lost my data, why is the gamer being punished in this way?
I also cannot transfer non-corrupted save data from another user account on the console to my user account due to prohibitive copy protection, I'm not trying to cheat but simply don't want to have to play through the game again to reach where I was up to.
Backing up of saved data is an important part of owning a PS3 due to the possibility of system failure and the ensuing loss of data. Other games have been patched to remove copy-protection from their saved data and I believe Ubisoft must do the right thing and release a patch to remove copy-protection from Assassin's Creed II saved data.
