Some planes got ADF (Automtic Direction Finder) and some dont.
Did the aircrafts in the game, that have this guge, had it in WWII?
If so how did it work?
In the dogfight server games where there are no waypoints, what does the ADF point at?

In the simplest of terms, the pilot tunes in a given radio frequency and the needle in the ADF guage will point to the signal. So if you keep the needle always pointing to the nose of the aircraft you will eventually fly to the tower emiting the radio signal.

Now as far as did the actual planes have these guages... I would venture a guess that if the actual airplane did not have the gauge, the whiners would have said something about that (ad nausium) by now...LOL.
