The last of the big Brick and Mortar Computer Specialty stores is going under, now might be a good time to scavange for some good bargains.

The Compusa in my town is actually, still open. So I thought I'd let some folks know.

I read about this last week. Too bad. Their service wasn't any worse than the helpbots at BB, and they had a lot more stuff.

Thanks for the heads up Sir. I'll do some digging around in my area and see what I can score. Maybe that new video card will be in my stocking this year http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We had our Cristmas show this weekend... it was actually one of the best I have ever been a part of...less flash and a lot more substance. I started to get on last night @2200 or so.. but I was tired and I figured since I have the after hours duty this week I'd better try to get some sleep..

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif That's one of my favorite all time stores!! I had no idea this was happening. Major bummer and I hate to see it go, very bad news.

Hope you bag some bargains, but maybe also spare a thought for the people who's jobs have just disappeared too.

Our company uses Macs. CompUSA was, by far, the best place to get Mac stuff.

First the Circuit City here closed and now the CompUSA. That means the only electronics store left in this town will be Best Buy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I guess real stores staffed with people just can't compete with online retailers cost wise http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif

Yeah, I'd rather go online as well. I've been getting my computer needs filled at Tiger Direct. Best Buy is on my S%$T list. Major issues with their "Geek Squad" folks.

Still, I might pop into CompUSA to see what they have. I thought for sure they would close the local store a while ago, it always seems empty.

And Circuit City is still around, though they did clean house a few years ago and closed some stores. There is one about 20min away.

Quazi, is there still a CompUSA at Rivergate? I might have to make a trip up there.
