Would anyone care to volunteer to burn and mail a copy of the 4.03m patch? I'm stuck with dodgy 56k dialup and a mailout is the only way I'm going to get the patch in the near future.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. I will pay costs thru paypal/direct deposit, whatever.

Don't make me beg.

djetz,

Will do it for you, don't work about cost, work for large company, and will get it shipped direct.

Give me you details, and i'll get it organised.

I pulled it down using a 36kbs connection and it is a 154mb file.

Try starting the run at 10pm and leaving it running until 12am. After around five tries it should work!

Thats what I do...

djetz,
assume you are going OK with ricey2005's offer.
Otherwise, if it falls through, let me know and I can fix you up, no probs. (Im in OZ too).
If I don't hear any more, will assume all is OK.

Anyone else in Australia having a similar prob, just yell out.

Best regards,

Live in Melbourne, and normally have access to school broadband.

If all else fails, I'm happy to stand in front of RMIT at lunch, offering patch to strangers. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You can get the patches in library or Internet cafe. It gotta be one close to you. In the future when a patch is close to be released, you can go around find one of the above and when the patch is out, just go there with a blank cd and burn it right the way. This way you don't miss weeks of fun. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oh, I know it. Problem is, I'm stuck in the spare room at my mother's house till I can get somewhere long-term to live. It's a long story... but anyway, there's no point in me getting broadband at the moment 'cause I will be moving in the next few months.

But hurrah! Saved by a Scot! Many of my ancestors were Scots and I'd wear a damn kilt if I had one. The bagpipes stir my blood, though I draw the line at haggis.

The net cafes that I've tried (when I was staying in Sydney a year ago) all seemed to have slower connections than I get from dial-up.

Thanks a lot to everyone for the offers of help. You all rock.
