View Full Version : IL2 playing online

I've got the original game, stand-alone. I've played it a while and would like to try online. What patches do I need, and which ones are recommended? Where do I find them? Are there servers still going for this game? When I opened multiplayer from the game itself, it took me to a server list and said I needed an update to play. Clicked on the link, and it took me to a PF page. Thanks in advance for any help.

I dont think you can get the patches for IL2 original anymore. If so not many are flying the original game in Hyperlobby. The only updates are here (http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/updates.php) and they are for Pacific Fighters. Most everyone here is playing the most recent version of the game which is IL2-1946 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/26310365/m/4591089933/r/4591089933#4591089933) and patch it to 4.08. That 2nd link is where you want to begin http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

patches are here i think, but as said you will struggle to find anyone playing it online these days, though there was mention of a game in hyperlobby in a post of late that we lost in the forum update http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif perhaps the original poster will repost it for you if he reads this.

I would buy 1946 as that gives you all the versions then you need one patch......

also see this for patching info

Thanks for the patch link. I'll give it a whirl, and get 1946 as soon as I can.

Definitley worth it, Bobcat. 300+ planes, oodles of maps. The 1946 DVD comes with EVERYTHING released under the title so far. Best value I've ever seen in a game. I woulda bought 2 copies if the place wasn't out of them.
