Im having trouble keeping in formation with the computer controlled pilots. Im putting it down to the fact I don't have a throttle device and can only use the keyboard to control my speed. It seems I either fly too fast or too slow with no inbetween.

That would be it... almost every time I've flown formation the AI have been using about 65% throttle ('cept the I-16 and one or two others). I haven't tried it in the current version so I can't say if that setting still applies.

And even then, its tough to hang wint tip to wing tip without them screwing around!

Just got the throttle working. The difference it makes during landings is great, even if I have a simple device. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The friendly AI have only two functions: to collide with you en route to or on the way back from the target area or to steal credit for your kills. Watch them very closely. They love to hide behind your canopy frames and slowly drift into you from your three o'clock when you least expect it.

cheers

PS-if you've scored more than three kills, be especially vigilant when landing too.
