I just sunk a Battleship in Loch Ewe, the damn things on it's side but im not getting the credit. Does it have to be totally submerged?

Well that was 6 hours of wasted time entering that harbour. Darn things too shallow. oh and a few less Torps too.

Some ships in shallow water still have parts sticking out of water, and you still get credit. maybe one more fish would have done it, or just wait awhile for it to take on more water.

It should atleast go belly up, or the bow or stern should submerge. Rember, this game is like fishing, gotta be patient http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif Also, try and aim for the ammo or fuel, that way you should only need 1 torp, the ship doesn't have to be totally submerged, you just need to hit it in the right place...

Like Ali said, try aiming for the ammo or fuel bunkers or engine room.
One fish in there will usualy kill them with a few explosions ripping to the ship.
Try to use electric torps so they don't see it coming.

okie. I have what looks like a battle ship in harbour ( I restarted a saved game) the community manual says to hit the Magazines onboard. Im assuming they are up forward as there are no gun emplacements on the after end of the ship but there are 3 emplacements on the forward end. If I place a torp in the Mag and one aft where I assume the engine room is will this thing sink in a harbour with a depth of approx 17 metres. How long is too long to wait around for it to sink?

I tried takin a screen shot but the resolution by the time I cut it out of the periscope is horrible.

Look for the damage zones in the recognition manual. They will show up if you are close enough (under 800m).

just keep sending torpedoes until she goes down for good. I would not want to miss the tonnage and renown just to save a torpedo or two. Also, you will be the big man on the U-boat campus when you tell your story to the underclassmen.

If you aproach your target at a 90 degree angle,so that when you look on the map you form a "T" together with the target.
When the distance is below 1000 meters you see a few boxes appear in the recognition manual if you have selected the right ship.

OK, I started a new career, gave myself a German name, Gerd Schaar. Heres a Pic of my first Kill. http://jaalm.homedns.org/firstkill.jpg

Unfortunately the trps I fired from the forward Tubes missed by a mile and the after ones hit bang on.
