when i play on my 22" widescreen LCD the screen is stretched verticaly so it looks like people are really tall. Shouldent this be letterboxed? Any ideas?

In the Xbox 360 "Console Settings" try changing the TV thing like if its set to Wide screen try setting it to normal or try setting it to wide screen and 720p worked 4 me!

I'm playing on a 22" lcd via the vga cable and it looks fine to me.

As said above, make sure your xbox 360 is set to widescreen and the correct resolution. (Mine is set to 720 or 1024, not sure which)

Sounds like your display settings. Make sure it's on widescreen, then see how high up the chain of resolutions you can go. My 22" maxes out at the 13XX resolution, not that I'm complaining.

Hmmm... I have that exact monitor, heh. All I can suggest monitor-side is trying the different adjustments. Other than that I don't know what could be wrong.

Is your LCD's aspect ratio 16: or 16:10. I have the samsung 216BW and it is 16:10. On a 16:10 it will look stretched as it thinks it is 16:9, and as far as I know there is no cure.... sorry. I would have bought a 16:9 if I had known before hand that it would not be compatible with my 360.

I'm running on the Samsung 226CW.

Astalder, besides simply selecting "Widescreen/normal" you should have options for the resolution itself in your xbox options, what do you have it set to?

Samsung 226bw with xbox 360 vga cable. I am able to select a display setting of 1360x768 in the xbox but my monitor will then show 1280x768 or 1280x720 in its OSD info page. I would like to know if anyone else has this problem
