I just picked up a new copy of IL-2 1946 from gamestop, and I just wanted to know what comes in the box, because when I opened it up it only had to discs and no book of nothing. Is this normal?

Yup, that's normal. The manual, keycard, and aircraft guide are .pdf files on the DVDs, and they will be in your game directory as well. Note that the manual is the one from Pacific Fighters, which is current, and also read the readme file for further info on the game.

In lieu of the manual I recommend reading through Bearcats A Nugget's Guide to Getting of the Ground... (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/9121094645)

It'll answer a lot of the questions the manual will raise.
